Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

The Markets Finance Team is responsible for Product and Financial Control, as well as Finance Partnering activities to lead the Markets Business to achieve its objectives. The Markets Business unit covers FX, Fixed Interest, Derivatives, Sales and Capital Markets activities.

In this role you'll work closely with and support the Markets Finance Team and Markets business unit with the following:

  • Completion of daily and monthly performance and financial reporting relating to Derivatives, FX, Bonds and Capital Markets.

  • Proactive engagement with the dealers, risk and valuation areas to understand why and how the Bank trades to ensure revenue and Balance Sheet movements are appropriate given market moves.

  • Operate key controls and will design and enhance these controls over time.

  • Be actively involved in projects and initiatives across the Liquidity Management and Markets’ businesses ensuring compliance with Group Accounting and Risk policies

  • Developing extensive experience in financial products such as Derivatives, FX, Bonds and Capital Markets and develop an understanding as to their usage and accounting treatment.

What attributes will this person have in order to be successful?

  • Minimum 3 years' work experience and have a keen interest in financial markets.

  • Competent learning and adapt to new systems and technologies.

  • You are confident in building relationships and engaging with stakeholders at various levels.

  • Tertiary qualification with a commerce / finance focus, our preference is for finance, economics or accounting.
