Description
Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer of EK Health Services Inc., the Controller will lead the company’s accounting and financial operations, overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, and transactional integrity. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and a strong command of financial controls and compliance. In this role, you will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and providing financial insight that supports sound decision-making and mitigates organization risk.
Position Specifics: Full-time (fully remote position).
The job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee financial & accounting activities and personnel
- Manage all accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable
- Support month-end and year-end close, including delivering a GAAP-compliant monthly P&L to the CEO
- Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded, classified, and accrued in accordance with GAAP
- Handle 1099s and U.S. tax reporting in states where the company is a registered foreign corporation
- Set controls and budgets to mitigate risk and increase return on investments
- Conduct internal audits to assess financial status and identify areas for process improvement
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support business initiatives and strategic growth
- Establishes and maintains an integrated operational and financial plan to achieve strategic and long-range financial objectives
- Prepares, files and is accountable for the accuracy of all financial reports required by law

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Accounting or Finance degree (BS/BA/BBA) required
- MBA, MAcc, or CPA a plus
- 7+ years’ experience in accounting or finance
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including GAAP
- Strong leadership qualities
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Experience in risk management or healthcare is a plus
- Must be proficient with QuickBooks and MS Office (particularly Excel)
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to sit most of the day. Candidates must be able to use a keyboard most of the day. Candidate must have manual dexterity. Candidate must be able to speak on the telephone intermittently throughout the day. Candidate must be able to read and write English fluently. Candidate must be able to provide and confirm safe home office environment. Home office must be HIPAA compliant.
