Job Description Summary

We are seeking a Principal Data Engineer to design, develop, and operationalize cloud‑native data, analytics, and MLOps solutions. The role supports scientific, analytical, and operational data ecosystems ensuring scalability, automation, and compliance.

Key Accountabilities

• Design & implement ETL/ELT pipelines using ADF, ADLS, Fabric, Databricks.
• Operationalize ML workflows using Azure ML & MLOps best practices.
• Implement CI/CD automation using Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions.
• Ensure data/model lineage, validation & FAIR/ALCOA+ compliance.
• Develop APIs, reusable data products & analytics consumption layers.
• Collaborate across ELN, LIMS, MES, ERP & scientific/IT stakeholders.
• Support monitoring, troubleshooting & cloud performance optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• 5+ years experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or MLOps.
• Hands‑on Azure experience; exposure to regulated environments preferred.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and automation.
• Hands-on experience with Azure services including ADF, ADLS, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Machine Learning.
• Experience with MLOps frameworks and tooling such as MLflow, Docker, and FastAPI.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control.
• Experience supporting analytics and visualization via Power BI or similar tools.
• Familiarity with SnapLogic or other iPaaS solutions is an advantage.

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration skills and comfort working in cross-functional, global teams.
• Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on automation, scalability, and quality.

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102)
