The Role


We are seeking a Porfolio Manager – Transformation to provide strategic oversight and governance of our transformation portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Delivery and Agility, you will ensure initiatives are aligned to business priorities, resources are optimally deployed, and transformation outcomes deliver enterprise value. 
This role operates at the strategic transformation layer, managing the portfolio of enterprise-wide change that fundamentally reshapes how the organisation operates. You will influence long-term strategic direction, capability uplift, and organisational investment priorities across the transformation journey.

Key Accountabilities & Main Responsibilities

Strategic Portfolio Leadership
•    Oversee a portfolio of strategic initiatives and investments ensuring alignment to MUFG Retirement Solutions’ business and client priorities.  
•    Provide strategic insights to stakeholders regarding performance, risks, dependencies, and resource utilisation.
•    Lead assessments of major initiatives, making recommendations on continuation, modification, pause, or discontinuation.
 

Portfolio Governance & Performance
•    Manage all aspects of portfolio governance, including demand management, prioritisation, initiative evaluation, and strategic alignment.
•    Conduct regular reviews with senior leadership and governance bodies to assess progress, validate priorities, and adjust the portfolio as required.
•    Establish and maintain portfolio reporting, communications, dashboards, and documentation to support transparency and strong governance.

Stakeholder Engagement & Influence
•    Act as the central escalation point for stakeholder trade offs, competing priorities, and resource conflicts.
•    Engage directly with senior leadership to address cross-organisational issues.
•    Oversee and resolve cross initiative dependencies, ensuring alignment with enterprise delivery timelines and objectives.
•    Shape workforce planning and capability uplift to support future organisational demand.
•    Champion continuous improvement and standards uplift across portfolio management practices.


Experience & Personal Attributes

 

  • Proven ability to develop and lead strategically aligned portfolios, delivering outcomes within financial and resource constraints.
  • Extensive experience in leading portfolio management, with a proven ability to oversee complex, strategic portfolios and ensure alignment with organisational priorities.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams and maintain alignment with enterprise strategy.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, engaging senior stakeholders and technical leadership effectively.
  • Deep business acumen and industry knowledge, with the ability to translate strategy into execution.
  • High level of adaptability and empathy, tailoring engagement styles to diverse audiences.
  • Advanced negotiation skills in complex environments with competing priorities.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic planning capabilities, including financial analysis and performance reporting.
  • Proficiency in reporting tools and dashboards for monitoring portfolio activities.
  • Familiarity with delivery methodologies such as PMI, PRINCE2, Agile, and MSP.
  • Extensive experience leading complex projects and programs with a focus on strategic alignment and delivery excellence.
