Job Summary:
The HR Manager is responsible for leading the human resources function, ensuring compliance with labor laws, company policies, and collective bargaining agreements (CBA), if applicable. This role serves as a strategic partner to facility leadership, driving workforce planning, labor relations, employee engagement, talent acquisition, performance management, and compliance to support business objectives. The HR Manager will also play a key role in fostering a high-performance culture while mitigating risks.
What you will be doing
- Manage or oversee dispute resolution process with involved parties.
- Determine effective strategies for addressing future needs in the marketplace.
- Drive the Performance Management and Succession Planning Process.
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and company values, and the Hydro policies and procedures.
- Administer all aspects of salaried and hourly payroll and job evaluation process.
- Serves as driving force and an enabler to provide proactive change management practices and help drive the Safety Culture at the facility.
- Develop and support people systems to promote the lean manufacturing culture.
- Proactively provide consultation to management regarding changes that effect employee relations.
What will make you successful?
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including at least 2 years in a unionized setting (if applicable).
- Experience in collective bargaining, workforce planning, HR compliance, and talent management required.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Masters degree preferred.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR, Certified Labor Relations Professional (CLRP) or other union/labor relations certifications a plus.
- Bi-lingual proficiency is a plus.
