Sr Software Engineer

What's the role?

• As a Senior Software Engineer (Scala, Java, AWS, REST services), you will:
  • Design and develop backend services to manage content infrastructure and repositories.
  • Participate in all stages of software development: vision, requirements, design, coding, testing, release, and support.
  • Implement tools for automated and semi-automated map data processing, including dashboards for data tracking and analysis.
  • Apply and extend CI/CD tools and take end-to-end ownership of your software stack, including DevOps and testing.
  • Collaborate on architecture, design, and code reviews with Lead and Principal Engineers.
  • Mentor team members and share technical expertise.
  • Explore and build POCs using new technologies and open-source APIs.

   

Who are you?

• B.Eng./B.Tech. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Geoinformatics.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and Scala.
• Strong knowledge of REST services, JSON, XML, and AWS (SQS, EMR, SNS, Serverless).
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/Oracle) and Akka (HTTP, Streams).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (JIRA, Git/Gerrit) and Linux/Unix.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication.
• Ability to learn and implement new technologies quickly.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Kafka, Kinesis, RabbitMQ, NodeJS, AngularJS/React.
• Knowledge of geospatial data handling (GIS, PostGIS, GeoJSON).
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
• Contributions to open-source projects.
