About this role

Role/Responsibilities

He/she is responsible for supporting GSM-R Systems from engineering, design, implementation, testing, acceptance to support. The incumbent also performs a wide variety of installation, configuration and upgrading of GSM-R systems and related hardware and software. The incumbent also provides investigation, diagnostic testing and repair/resolution of GSM-R system and related infrastructure.

  • Lead System engineering works such as design and build, testing and acceptance of GSM-R Systems. Ensure design criteria for GSM-R systems are complied.
  • Responsible to ensure implementation, deployment, commissioning and testing of GSM-R systems
  • Lead deployment teams, testing and acceptance teams
  • Act as primary interface for technical concerns between NEC Japan, Partners, vendors and the Customer.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders for the proper delivery of project deliverables
  • Perform hardware installation, configuration and Power ON Self-Test (POST)
  • Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
  • Give root cause analysis on incidents
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup and network configuration.
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • Ensure that a high level of customer service and support is provided to all internal and external customers
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports
  • Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals
  • Provide assistance to the Sales and Product Management Team on customer demos and/or Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) when necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications/Industry Certifications

Essential

  • Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communications Engineering and/or other equivalent related courses.
  • 3-5 years of technical experience GSM-R or GSM Core deployment including Base Stations.
  • Good knowledge of system level monitoring, performance tuning
  • Proficient in Windows and Linux Operating systems and productivity tools.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Design Engineering, Installation, Deployment and Commissioning & Testing of GSM systems (i.e. MSC, BSC, SGSN, GGSN, Core), preferably NOKIA
  • Knowledgeable in MSS, MGW, BSC and IP core
  • Able to configure, test, commission and perform acceptance testing of GSM core and base stations
  • Good knowledge in GSM protocols
  • Preferably with knowledge in GSM-R (Global System for Mobile Communications – Railway)
  • Good communication skills, technical writing
  • Good Leadership skills
  • PECE Licensed (Desirable)

  • Able to work in high pressure and demanding environment
  • Able to work effectively with industry partners and third party ICT suppliers.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills to technical and non-technical audiences.

Work Setup:

Shift: Dayshift / Mon - Fri (8:30 AM - 5:30 PM)

Setup: Hybrid (depending on the work demand)

Location: Paseo de Roxas, Makati / Valenzuela or Bulacan (Transportation will be provided)
