About the role
The Senior Accountant is a key contributor to the monthly close, financial reporting, and internal control environment of a private equity–backed organization. This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and experience supporting audit and private equity reporting requirements. The Senior Accountant partners closely with FP&A, operations, and external auditors to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and GAAP compliance of financial statements.Responsibilities:
- Own key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting data
- Ensure accurate consolidation of multiple legal entities for company-wide reporting
- Support preparation of GAAP financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
- Prepare assigned monthly balance sheet reconciliations to support audit readiness and a disciplined close
- Partner with FP&A on variance analysis and forecasting support
- Work with AP, AR, and Payroll to ensure accurate accounting
- Apply and document U.S. GAAP for complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition, leases, accruals, and reserves
- Ensure SOX-lite and internal controls are followed and continuously improve
What we need from you
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Public accounting experience (Big 4 or regional firm)
- Experience with monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting using SAAS tools ( Anaplan
- Audit experience (public accounting or audit support)
- Experience in a multi-entity or PE-backed environment a plus
- Strong Written communication and verbal skills
- Expert in ERP/system experience. NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Oracle, SAP, or similar. Microsoft Dynamics Business Central preferred
