About this role

Rud Pedersen Public Affairs Brussels office opened in 2017 and has around 80 team members today. We are currently looking to strengthen our team with a motivated Junior Financial Analyst to support our Finance Director. This position is offered as an initial, 6-month contract, with the potential to become permanent.

The position

The Junior Financial Analyst supports the Finance Director in ensuring accurate financial operations, high quality internal reporting, and smooth project finance management for our public affairs activities in Belgium (mainly), Italy and the Netherlands.

Responsibilities will include:

1. Project Administration

  • Maintain and update client invoices and contract administration.
  • Prepare and issue client invoices
  • Monitor client payments, update receipts, and follow up on outstanding invoices
  • Act as first-line support for colleagues on questions (expenses, project setup, user rights…)

2. Accounts Payable (A/P)

  • Ensure supplier invoices are collected, validated in line with our PO policy and allocated to projects
  • Prepare supplier payment batches on a regular basis.
  • Review expense notes

3. Month-End Closing

  • Assist with the preparation of month-end journals (cutoffs, accruals, deferrals).
  • Review operating expenses and flag unusual movements.
  • Assist with intercompany reconciliations
  • Upload financial figures to Group consolidation tools.
  • Contribute to internal management reporting packs

4. Group reporting & forecasting

  • Support preparation of monthly secured revenue forecasts
  • Support with the preparation of analytical reports for management, and Group Finance.

5. Compliance & Audit

  • Support year-end audit processes (collecting documents, preparing reconciliations).
  • Support administration related to the EU Transparency Register.

6. Process & Tools improvement

  • Participate in projects to enhance tools, automation, and data quality.
  • Help identify bottlenecks in finance processes

Desired Profile

Knowledge & Technical Skills

  • Basics of accounting and financial analysis.
  • Good command of Excel (lookups, pivot tables, basic modeling).
  • Experience with ERPs
  • Good administrative discipline and data accuracy.

Soft Skills

  • Curious, eager to learn, proactive.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Team orientation in an international environment
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Ability to communicate with non-finance colleagues

Education & Experience

  • University degree in Finance / Economics / Business
  • Fresh graduate or 1-2 years professional experience

Languages

  • Fluency in English is essential.
  • French or Dutch are advantageous.
