As a Recruiter specializing in NCG (New College Graduate) hiring and University Relations at Micron Technology, Inc., you will lead strategies and execution to attract top early‑career talent. You will collaborate closely with hiring managers, universities, laboratories, career centers, and student organizations to build strong talent pipelines and improve Micron’s visibility on campus.
Your responsibilities include planning and delivering NCG hiring activities, managing university relationships, coordinating campus events, and driving initiatives that strengthen brand presence among students. You will oversee the full hiring lifecycle—from defining headcount needs and conducting candidate assessments to extending offers and supporting onboarding. You will also participate in projects that improve recruiting operations and optimize campus engagement.
Responsibilities
1. NCG Hiring Strategy & Execution
- Create and implement annual NCG hiring plans
- Align headcount needs with hiring managers and define role requirements
- Formulate strategies based on student trends and competitive insights in the Japan market
2. University Relations (UR)
- Build and maintain positive relationships with universities, labs, and career centers
- Collaborate with professors, department leaders, and career support staff
- Plan and lead campus events such as info sessions, lab visits, and technical talks
- Support building and execution of internship programs and technical engagement events
3. NCG Candidate Sourcing & Assessment
- Source candidates through campus events, student communities, and online channels
- Conduct screening, manage interview logistics, and coordinate with interviewers
- Assess skills, potential, and fit for both technical and business roles
4. Recruiting Process Management & Candidate Experience
- Manage data and workflows in applicant tracking systems
- Coordinate partners across the process and ensure timely communication
- Support employer branding and develop candidate-facing materials
5. Offer Management & Onboarding
- Prepare and communicate offer packages
- Conduct offer negotiations and guide candidates through decision-making
- Support pre‑boarding preparation and onboarding coordination with the business
6. Recruiting Projects & Process Improvement
- Lead or participate in campus recruitment optimization projects
- Improve process efficiency, candidate experience, and data reporting
- Support NCG hiring for ramp activities and M&A‑related workforce needs
7. Market and Competitor Intelligence
- Assess student trends, university landscape changes, and competitor hiring activities
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data and market research
8. Eye For Business
- Maintain understanding of Micron’s business, technologies, and organizational structure
- Apply business context to support effective hiring decisions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in recruitment, campus hiring, university relations, or talent acquisition
- Proven experience leading New Graduate hiring or Early‑Career talent programs
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relations with universities, labs, career centers, and student communities
- Excellent Japanese communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- Recruiting experience in the technology, manufacturing, or semiconductor industry
- Experience working in a global, matrixed organization and collaborating with international teams
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with sourcing tools such as Workday, LinkedIn Recruiter, etc.
- Strong English command
