You Are

  • A seasoned utilities industry practitioner with the expertise to help clients address the challenges and opportunities of digitization.

  • You bring the experience, creativity, and analytical rigor needed to design, solution, and implement next-generation Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) capabilities. Your foundation includes deep knowledge of the utility processes and technologies that underpin AMI programs—such as meter and network deployment, meter-to-cash, outage integration, web presentment, AMI operations, and AMI analytics.

The Work

  • Understand client challenges and clearly articulate the value of transformation in terms of measurable business outcomes

  • Provide thought leadership on the most critical issues facing utilities today and in the future

  • Continuously learn and apply emerging technologies and innovative advanced metering solutions for clients

  • Serve as a role model and coach for the next generation of Accenture managers and consultants

  • Champion the professional and personal success of people on your team

  • Build trusted advisor relationships across the client organization, from the C-suite to the front line, spanning both business and IT

  • Integrate and analyze business and operational data to uncover insights and enable evidence-based decision-making

Core Capabilities & Technology Focus

  • Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI): Designing and implementing next-generation smart metering solutions that enable real-time consumption data, two-way communication between utilities and customers, and automated billing

  • Internet of Things (IoT) & Sensors: Leveraging connected devices to monitor variables such as temperature, pressure, and flow, improving grid stability and asset health through real-time visibility

  • Grid Modernization (ADMS/DERMS): Implementing Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS) to support renewable integration, improve reliability, and stabilize the grid

  • Digital Twins & BIM: Applying Building Information Modeling (BIM) and digital twin technologies to simulate, monitor, and predict the performance of physical assets

  • Edge Computing & Artificial Intelligence: Enabling asset-level data processing for autonomous decision-making and using AI to forecast demand, detect anomalies, and optimize operations

Professional Skill Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the utilities industry (electric and/or gas)

  • Minimum of 7 years of project implementation experience across AMI processes and technologies, including the integration of business and IT requirements into cohesive AMI solutions

  • Minimum of 7 years of functional experience working with major AMI product vendors and platforms (e.g., MDM, head-end systems, networks, meters), including but not limited to Itron, Landis+Gyr, Aclara, Sensus, Siemens, Oracle, and SAP

  • At least 3 years of experience working for a leading consulting organization

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.

As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired as set forth below.
