Why Mintlify?

We're on a mission to empower builders.

  • Small team, huge impact: We’re only 43 people today, backed by $22 million in funding, each new hire shapes the company’s trajectory.

  • Culture of slope over y-intercept : We value learning velocity, grit, and unapologetically unique personalities.

We grew in value faster than headcount and we’re looking to align the two quickly.

About The Role

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and grow a high-performing engineering team as Mintlify scales through rapid growth. This is a highly technical, player/coach leadership role at the core of Mintlify's product. You'll take ownership of the team's mission and objectives, ensuring the team delivers high-quality solutions on time to Mintlify's most pressing challenges. You'll foster an engaged, motivated, and collaborative team culture while supporting the growth and development of each team member. You'll work cross-functionally with product, design, support, and other engineering teams to help scale and improve our product. You'll hire and develop a high-performing team while staying close to architecture, debugging, and reliability. Success requires strong people leadership, clear execution in ambiguous problem spaces, and the technical depth to drive correctness and operational excellence.

You'll be trusted to make fast, high-quality decisions, ship impactful features, and grow a team that embodies engineering excellence. We move with urgency, bias toward simplicity, and expect our leaders to be hands-on when needed.

What You'll Do

  • Lead fullstack engineering team(s) building user-facing features across our product.

  • Collaborate closely with Design and Product teams to identify and execute on high-impact initiatives.

  • Help define and evolve the architecture for a fast-moving, AI-powered application.

  • Hire, grow, and retain exceptional engineers who thrive in a high-trust, high-impact environment.

  • Foster a culture of simplicity, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Contribute to code and architecture reviews, unblock teams, and lead by example when needed.

  • Work closely with cross-functional partners to align product initiatives with company goals.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 2+ years of experience in a software engineering management role leading fullstack product engineering teams in high-growth, early stage environments.

  • 5+ years of experience as a full stack or backend product engineer.

  • A track record of leading high-performing, engaged engineering teams.

  • Strong product sense and an instinct for balancing speed, quality, and user impact.

  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React) and backend systems (e.g. Python, Node, Go).
