Hybrid model of work: 3 days in office, 2 remote per week
The Data Analysis Specialist is responsible for supporting more complex data challenges (size, complexity, type and/or number of data sets) under the supervision of more experienced Data Analysts.
Human Biological Samples (HBS) Data Analytics / Scientist is responsible for the effective implementation of a range of analytics tools and strategies to drive value and protect HBS data assets within AZ Biosamples.
The role specializes in HBS data analysis, reporting and contributes to HBS data governance strategies, HBS data standards, HBS data quality, data policy and compliance & risk management.
The role will either work individually, managing projects within its own specialist area or contribute to the effective operation of the whole team through collaboration and engagement with peers and leading key projects and initiatives. The job holder applies data, business, regulatory and soft skills to lead governance and policy implementation in the Biosamples.
The role will coordinate, and own analytical strategies and tools align to HBS data products, through collaboration and engagement with business users, IT, and internal and external data providers. The role holder will have experience in data governance processes and have knowledge and experience of HBS data and the business processes that consume the data with technical abilities to analyse large data sets and present to stakeholders.
Typical Accountabilities
Design and develop data visualisations to address scientific and business questions
Maintain and deliver analytical dashboards and applications
Own system administration activities, including access management and issue management
Improve the ways data are extracted, transformed and loaded to Biosamples analytical systems
Analyse and suggest potential reuse of data
Provide training and support to the users of the dashboards and applications
Embrace AI technologies and deploy for HBS analytics
Proactively liaises with multiple SMEs to support the development of analytical strategies for HBS
Collaborates with a range of stakeholders to implement data analytics frameworks and guidelines and uses influence to drive discussions.
Apply subject matter knowledge in their area of expertise to effectively shape resolutions to complex queries or new approaches
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in business, data or technology discipline – or equivalent number of years of experience.
Subject matter expertise and proven experience within data governance disciplines and domains
Knowledge of standards, data management and IT management regulations, policies and principles.
Experience of Business/IT partnering for the implementation of Data Governance-related solutions.
Proven change management, interpersonal, assertiveness and negotiation skills
Strong consulting and analytical skills
Demonstrate high communication skills
Desirable
Experience of Human Biobanking processes, technologies and data
Master degree in Information/Data Science, Informatics, computer science, economics or related discipline.
Experience in life sciences and healthcare.
Applied data management and data science skills, including experience with related tools.
Experience in data stewardship
Knowledge and experience with regulated and/or legal environments and requirements (e.g., GxP, data privacy, and security)
