English Schools Foundation
Posted 11 days ago
About this role
The English School Foundation (ESF) is embarking on an ambitious Digital Modernization initiative, transitioning from a bespoke legacy system to a modern, integrated Learning Management System (LMS) and Student Information System (SIS) known as ESF Hub.
We are seeking a talented and motivated Solutions Specialist who will be the primary bridge between our technical capabilities and the educational needs of our 22 schools.
In our lean team, every member is a Transformation Partner. You are more than a functional consultant; you are a facilitator of change, expected to be "on the ground" to ensure a smooth transition. You will be successful if you can navigate the technical complexities of a large-scale migration while ensuring that teachers in the classroom feel supported as they navigate a new platform. Your goal is to ensure the ESF Hub is configured, adopted, and optimised to deliver maximum value to the ESF community.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Functional Configuration & Implementation
- System Customisation: Configure and customise the new LMS and SIS, ensuring the software is tailored to meet the diverse needs of kindergarten, primary, secondary, and all-through schools.
- End-to-End Implementation: Key resource in the implementation of the ESF Hub, involved in all stages from design and configuration to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
- Problem Solving: Take a proactive approach to identifying challenges within the transition from legacy systems and develop technical solutions that meet the evolving needs of the organisation.
- Feature Optimisation: Collaborate closely with the DAP (Digital Adoption Platform) vendor to develop in-app solutions that guide users through complex workflows, thereby reducing friction during the transition.
- Solution Architecture Support: Collaborate with the Learning Management Systems Lead to ensure that functional configurations remain scalable and maintain data integrity.
2. On-the-Ground Transformation Partnership
- Onsite School Support: Act as a dedicated partner to schools, providing onsite assistance for staff and parents. You will be the primary point of contact for a school (s) during the migration, assisting users in transitioning from legacy workflows to the new ESF Hub.
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, ensuring the technical build aligns with the practical needs of the classroom.
- Adoption Mentoring: Support school-based "change champions" and staff, providing technical clarity and troubleshooting with a high-touch, service-oriented mindset.
3. Training & Knowledge Management
- Knowledge Base Development: Document "best practice" workflows and FAQs for internal and vendor reference to ensure a consistent experience across all 22 schools.
- Continuous Improvement: Research and leverage AI-driven tools to improve system adoption and streamline repetitive administrative tasks within the schools.
Requirements:
Experience & Technical Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Education Technology, or a related field.
- Implementation Experience: Proven experience in software implementation, functional consultancy, or systems analysis—ideally within an LMS or SIS environment.
- Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into scalable, user-centric solutions.
- Vendor Coordination: Strong experience in managing vendor relationships to ensure that product deliveries align with organisational goals and educational standards.
Mindset & Partnership Skills
- Transformation Partner Mentality: A commitment to being "on the ground." You must be comfortable navigating the "people" side of change management, supporting teachers and parents directly.
- Communication Excellence: Exceptional interpersonal skills; the ability to explain technical "how-tos" to non-technical users with empathy and patience.
- Proactive Problem Solving: A "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude. As part of a lean team, you will move between high-level strategy and hands-on, school-level troubleshooting.
Minimum typical education: University degree in Computer Science or related disciplines
Minimum typical experience: Over 7 years of experience in IT systems implementation, functional consultancy, and stakeholder-facing support.
Typical reporting relationship: Learning Management Systems Manager(s)
Period: Permanent
Project Focus: ESF Hub (LMS & SIS Transition)
