English Schools Foundation
Posted 11 days ago
About this role
The English School Foundation (ESF) is transitioning from a bespoke legacy system to a modern, integrated Learning Management System (LMS) and Student Information System (SIS) known as ESF Hub. We are seeking a proactive Systems Analyst (Implementations & QA) to act as the ultimate gatekeeper of quality and a dedicated facilitator of change.
In our lean team, every member is a Transformation Partner. You are more than a technical analyst; you are a partner to our 22 schools, expected to be "on the ground" to ensure a smooth transition. You will be successful if you can navigate the technical complexities of a large-scale migration while ensuring that teachers in the classroom feel supported as they navigate a new platform. You will be the single point of contact for testing environments, ensuring that every solution delivered by our partner vendors meets the highest standards of excellence.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance & Vendor Oversight
- Gatekeeper of Quality: Oversee quality assurance for software releases, ensuring that all functions delivered by our product vendors (LMS, SIS, and DAP) meet ESF’s rigorous standards.
- DAP Integration: Collaborate with the Digital Adoption Platform (DAP) vendor to ensure that in-app guidance is accurately mapped and functional for end-users.
- Release Management: Serve as the single point of contact for release and test environments; plan, execute, and monitor testing while proactively mitigating risks.
- Test Case Design: Design, review, and refine test cases/scenarios to find hidden requirements and edge cases, ensuring robust software and data integrity.
2. Technical Execution & Optimisation
- Automated & Manual Testing: Develop and run tests across frameworks, including API testing, and automate repetitive QA processes to refine best practices.
- Documentation: Clearly and comprehensively document findings for both internal teams and external vendors to drive swift resolutions.
3. On-the-Ground Transformation Partnership
- School Support: Act as a hands-on partner to schools. You will provide on-site assistance for staff and parents, troubleshooting issues in real-time as they adopt the new ESF Hub.
- Implementation Synergy: Work closely with the implementation team to ensure that the "delivered" product matches the "needed" solution in the classroom.
- Stakeholder Reporting: Provide regular status updates and environment reports to leadership, translating technical health into business-ready insights.
Requirements:
Experience & Technical Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- QA & Systems Analysis: Proven experience in QA engineering or systems analysis, with a strong grasp of test environment management and modern QA tools.
- Technical Testing: Hands-on experience in API testing, end-to-end test automation, and manual software testing (Mobile & Web).
- Vendor Management: Strong experience managing technical vendors across diverse project scopes, including SaaS and DAP providers.
- Domain Knowledge: Knowledge of higher education or K-12 operations and data governance frameworks is highly advantageous.
- Experience working within a Professional Services organisation or a large-scale enterprise environment is highly advantageous.
Mindset & Partnership Skills
- Transformation Partner Mentality: A commitment to being "on the ground" and providing user-centric service. You must be comfortable interacting with principals, teachers, and parents.
- Proactive Problem Solving: An analytical mindset with a focus on hidden requirements, software vulnerabilities, and edge cases.
- Communication: Excellent organizational and reporting skills; the ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams and vendors.
- Innovation: A passion for continuous learning and implementing new technologies
Minimum typical education: University degree in Computer Science or related disciplines
