Full-time, 2 years fixed term position
Base Salary $103,185 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to provide educational design support to academic and teaching staff across the School of Architecture Design and Planning.
The Educational Design Support Officer will implement educational resources to support academic decision making and assessment improvement aligned to the needs of the program and work area. They will support and drive innovations by engaging in the review of and redevelopment of eLearning sites to ensure enhanced student learning experiences.
The Educational Design Support Officer will report to the Educational Designer to support academic/teaching to provide technical expertise in the implementation of educational resources and best practice that align with the schools strategic goals.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
support the work area in the creation and development of educational resources to enhance student learning experience
support academic and teaching staff on the effective use of educational and multimedia technologies across diverse programs of study in the school
provide operational support to realise the educational design needs of the work area
provide a broad range of educational design support in supporting the driving of innovation to match the teaching and curriculum needs of the school
Other duties and contribute to projects appropriate within the classification level as required.
About you
strong communication skills coupled with the desire to support and assist staff and improving the end product to enhance student experience
a working knowledge and effective use of Learning Management Systems such as Canvas and other educational and multimedia technologies
strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workload
knowledge of university policies and procedures and administrative processes within a tertiary environment
self-starter with well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and the ability to work as part of a team.

Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
