About your role
We are seeking a proactive and motivated Credit Controller to join our Finance team on a 12‑month maternity leave cover based at our Melbourne CBD Head Office.
Reporting to the Senior Credit Controller, you will play a key role in managing the credit and collections function across a diverse customer portfolio. You will ensure timely collection of outstanding accounts, support cashflow targets, and contribute to maintaining strong, positive customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the timely and effective collection of all debts and payments through regular and proactive contact with customers
- Maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure invoices are clear for payment
- Monitor debtor balances to ensure a reduction in debtors DSO
- Reconciliation of complex accounts including as required, liaising with customers as well as internal teams to resolve issues
- Conduct credit and collection activities in line with credit management policies and procedures
- Maintain proper records of customer (debtor) accounts for visibility
- Recommend and undertake process improvements to ensure quality service delivery and drive continuous improvements
- Provide ad-hoc reporting as required
Who are we looking for?
- Prior experience using SAP is essential for the successful candidate
- Proven and successful track record in collecting customer debts
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
- Flexible and adaptable to work in a fast-paced environment
- Confident liaising with a variety of stakeholders across the Finance and broader business
- Calm, confident manner to handle potentially uncomfortable conversations
- High attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with the desire to continue learning and developing
