Summary

Baylor College of Medicine seeks a Brand Manager dedicated to our Education and Research missions to enhance our visibility and impact in these pivotal areas. The Brand Manager will be part of the College's marketing team. This role will focus on developing, implementing and executing marketing strategies to promote our educational programs and research initiatives. The ideal candidate will ensure brand consistency, manage digital and traditional advertising campaigns, and collaborate across missions with other Brand Managers to align branding and marketing efforts. This position offers an opportunity to play a critical role in advancing the college's mission by addressing the increasing demand for specialized marketing support in Education and Research. 

 

The Brand Manager will need to work closely with various departments within the college, including academic departments, research teams, admissions, alumni relations, and healthcare services. This role requires a candidate who is not only skilled in marketing but also adept at navigating complex organizational structures and fostering collaboration. While direct reports may not initially be part of this role, the Brand Manager will be expected to lead projects and influence strategies across the college. Leadership experience or potential is a must, as is the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels. The digital marketing landscape is constantly evolving. The ideal candidate must be committed to continuous learning and staying abreast of the latest trends, tools, and technologies that can benefit the college's marketing efforts. The ability to adapt to changing priorities and challenges is crucial. Job Duties

  • The Brand Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies that highlight Baylor College of Medicine's strengths in education and research. This includes analyzing market trends, identifying target audiences, and creating compelling content and messaging that showcases our innovative programs, cutting-edge research, and significant achievements in the medical field. The Brand Manager will work closely with academic departments and research teams to gather insights and achievements, ensuring that all marketing materials accurately reflect the college's expertise and advancements. This role involves managing budgets allocated to educational and research marketing initiatives, tracking the effectiveness of different strategies, and adjusting plans based on data-driven insights to maximize reach and impact. 
  • The Brand Manager will oversee all digital and traditional marketing efforts related to Education and Research at Baylor College of Medicine, including the management of digital advertising campaigns, search engine optimization (SEO), and social media marketing. They will be responsible for creating and curating content across various digital platforms, ensuring consistency in messaging and branding. This includes designing targeted ad campaigns on platforms like Google Ads and LinkedIn. The Brand Manager will analyze digital marketing analytics to assess the performance of campaigns and strategies, making data-driven decisions to enhance online engagement and attract potential students, researchers, collaborators and participants.
  • In this role, the Brand Manager will act as a bridge between the Education and Research missions and other departments within Baylor College of Medicine, including the Healthcare mission and the central marketing team. This involves regular coordination and strategic planning meetings to ensure that marketing efforts are synergistic and support the college's overarching goals. The Brand Manager will share insights and strategies, collaborate on cross-departmental campaigns, and ensure that the branding and messaging are consistent across all platforms and departments. 
  • Digital Campaigns and Advertising: Design and execute digital advertising campaigns aimed at promoting the college's educational and research programs to prospective students, faculty, and research partners. This includes creating targeted ads for social media platforms, managing PPC campaigns, and deploying email marketing strategies to engage with specific audiences. The Brand Manager will manage these campaigns and ensure optimal ROI. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationship with faculty, researchers, liaisons and department heads to ensure marketing strategies align with their goals and priorities. This includes regular meetings to gather input and feedback, as well as presenting marketing plans and performance reports to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Event Promotion and Support: Support the promotion of college-hosted events related to all missions, such as webinars, open houses, sponsorships, etc. This involves creating marketing materials, managing event engagement, and leveraging digital channels.
  • Brand Advocacy and Training: Serve as a brand advocate within the Education and Research departments, ensuring all communication and marketing materials adhere to the college's brand guidelines. Provide training and support to department staff on brand messaging and digital marketing best practices to ensure a consistent and professional image is presented. 
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Four years of relevant experience.  Degrees in lieu of experience will not be accepted.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field, master's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing or brand management, with a specific focus on digital marketing.
  • Training & Brand Advocacy: Experience educating stakeholders on brand guidelines and best practices.
  • Event Promotion: Experience marketing for webinars, open houses, and sponsorships.
  • Google Analytics Certification is preferred, showcasing a deep understanding of web analytics. Certification in Digital Marketing from a recognized institution.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies, managing digital advertising campaigns and enhancing online presence. 
  • Experience with content management systems, social media platforms, SEO, Google Analytics, and digital advertising tools. 
  • Strong project management skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and external vendors to meet project deadlines and objectives. 
  • Strategic Thinking and Creativity:  Ability to think strategically and creatively to develop innovative marketing strategies that align with the college’s missions.
  • Digital Marketing Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of digital marketing techniques, including SEO, PPC, email marketing, and social media strategies.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret marketing data and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Content Creation and Storytelling: Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to create compelling content that resonates with target audiences.
  • Interpersonal and Collaboration Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with faculty, researchers, and marketing colleagues. Ability to work across departments to align marketing efforts.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in marketing automation software and tools and familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) would be beneficial.
