We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Quality Engineering Manager.
This role will be involved in developing and applying quality engineering principles and methods to ensure product requirements are properly defined, verified, and validated throughout the NPD process from start to finish. The role is to ensure quality is built into the NPD process and PPAP is mapped and executed to the stage gate model. The manager also plays a key role in providing quality strategic planning/execution, development of quality frameworks, global quality alignment, and daily manufacturing support. The individual will be assigned to specific NPD projects as well as managing the quality engineering department.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
New Product Development
- Lead quality engineering to develop and control qualification and development activities as it relates to new products, new processes, and process changes throughout the NPD process.
- Work with the new product development team to ensure that new product introductions are launched flawlessly to quality/compliance/product safety requirements, industry standards, and customer quality needs.
- Responsible for conducting and documenting PPAP for the new product development going through the Dometic Product Develop/Improvement Process.
- Create strategies for quality resource planning of design transfers and process transfers from NPD to production.
- Define and lead Quality initiatives to support design for manufacturing within the NPD framework.
- Define and lead product and project risk management efforts from a product quality perspective and recommend improvements to design for manufacturing
- Define a framework for Product Safety and ensure Product Safety is built into design throughout the NPD process.
Strategic Quality
- Develops and maintains integrity of QMS.
- Develop quality strategies and quality frameworks for New Product Development, Project Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Product Quality Improvement, and Product Safety.
- Drive continuous product improvement through the use of quality systems to identify quality improvement needs and work with managers to drive execution of key quality improvements.
- Lead projects for Quality alignment amongst plant quality, segment quality, and group quality.
- Manage, motivate, and train quality staff.
Manufacturing Support
- Provide Manufacturing Quality Support 24/7.
- Responsible for ensuring the development and execution of quality plans.
- Identifies needs for go and no-go gauges, Poka-Yoke, critical to quality characteristics alongside other quality tools. Supervises auditors and technicians to ensure these quality tools are properly used and strictly followed.
- Identify top-quality issues and develop a quality cadence to review and address the issues cross-functionally through corrective and preventive actions.
- Investigate and determine root causes and implement corrective actions through RCCA for major quality excursions and other major manufacturing issues. Ensure issues are properly communicated and escalated as needed.
Quality Management System
- Responsible for developing, maintaining, and auditing Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with company, national/international standards, and customer requirements.
- Review and analyze statistical data to ensure continuous process control.
- Other duties as assigned.
Hands-on Quality Testing
- Perform product inspection and testing as assigned to support the needs of engineering, manufacturing, and PD.
- Develop testing plans and technical reports summarizing investigations, qualifications, and experiments as required.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
A suitable background would be a solid experience within the following qualifications and experiences:
- Experience: Minimum seven (7) years quality experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with experience in NPDs and Plastics Molding (preferred). Three (3) years supervisory experience.
- Education: Engineering/Technical Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, Biochemical, Civil etc.).
- Proven experience leading cross-functional project teams
- English language skills: Able to read, write, speak and comprehend English.
- Math skills: Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Physical Demands: Office and manufacturing environment.
- Skills in quality documentation – Quality Lifecycle Management, FMEA, Control plans, problem solving, MSA, PPAP and 8D.

- Working Experience in Electrical, HVAC, or Refrigeration Business
- Working Knowledge of Six Sigma Processes.
- ISO 9001 experience in auditing and implementing.
- ASQ accreditation as a CQE/CQM.
- Supplier Quality Background.
- Lean Manufacturing experience.
