Primary purpose:
Ensure quality software delivery from requirements specification through testing to production release. Design and execute test plans to ensure software products meet client requirements and run without defects. Perform manual and automated software testing, log issues discovered during testing, and collaborate with development team to resolve issues. Work with a cross-functional team to ensure agility and quality of software throughout the development lifecycle.
A successful candidate will do the following:
- Translate software requirements into detailed test scenarios and ensure traceability of requirements throughout the testing process
- Develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites for regression test coverage across software products
- Manually test software and use testing tools and frameworks to automate test scenarios when applicable. Work with development team to resolve issues
- Contribute to software builds and production deployments
- Identify, document, and prioritize software defects for clear and detailed bug reports. Work closely with developers and other stakeholders to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing to ensure software runs well and meets client needs and requirements
- Conduct API testing to validate data integration and verify the accuracy of information exchanged between different healthcare applications
- Create and maintain test data to support test scenarios for various healthcare use cases.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams to bridge the gap between development and testing
- Collaborate with the software development and product teams to understand project requirements and specifications
- Stay up-to-date regarding testing tools, methodologies, and industry best practices
- Provide clear and concise feedback on software quality to relevant stakeholders
- Improve QA processes and methodologies
- Lead software demonstrations for stakeholders to solidify an understanding of and appreciation for the product
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
- Nine (9) or more years of experience designing, developing, and executing test strategies and test plans for software
- Two (2) or more years of experience developing, executing, and maintaining automated test software
- Proficiency in various testing methodologies, including new-feature testing and regression testing
- Experience testing back-end services and front-end user interfaces
- Experience with test-automation tools and frameworks (such as JMeter, Cucumber/Gherkin, Selenium, Soap-UI, and automated RESTful API testing)
- Familiarity with Agile scrum methodology and supporting tools and methods (such as Jira and Kanban)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills; and attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to complete a federal Position of Public Trust Level 5 background investigation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with healthcare-related software
- Knowledge of Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) or HL7 Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR), including the FHIR REST API
- Experience with Java and/or C#/.NET technologies
- Familiarity with JSON and XML
