Role Summary:
The Senior Accountant is a key member of the accounting team responsible for ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial reporting through ownership of month-end close activities, comprehensive account reconciliations, and preparation of the monthly financial reporting packages. This role serves as a trusted business partner to cross-functional teams, supporting strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis while maintaining compliance with GAAP and internal control. The Senior Accountant will also play a critical role in external audit coordination and drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and systems
This role will report to the Assistant Controller.

Role Specifics:
Month-End Close & Journal Support
· Leads and executes the complete month-end close process, ensuring all activities are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
· Prepares, reviews, and post monthly journal entries including accrual, deferrals, allocations, reclassifications, and adjusting entries with appropriate support and documentation.
· Performs comprehensive monthly balance sheets and income statement account. reconciliations, maintain supporting schedules, and proactively resolve discrepancies.
· Ensures proper cutoff procedures and accurate period-end balances across all accounts.
· Coordinates with other departments to obtain necessary information for accurate and complete monthly close.
· Monitors and maintains the close calendar, tracking completion of key tasks and milestones.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
· Prepares comprehensive monthly financial reporting packages, including financial statements, supporting schedules, footnotes, and detailed variance explanations.
· Reviews and analyzes financial results for accuracy, and completeness, to include investigating variances, unusual trends, and anomalies.
· Conducts financial analysis to support management decision-making, including trend analysis, budget-to-actual comparisons, and key performance indicators.
· Presents financial information clearly and concisely to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
· Utilizes Excel, ERP systems and BI tools to support analysis, reporting, and data visualization.
· Assists in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
· Prepares ad hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management.
General Ledger & Account Management
· Maintains accurate and organized general ledger accounts with proper documentation.
· Reviews and approves transaction processed by team members.
· Ensures proper account coding and classification in accordance with company chart of accounts.
· Manages fixed asset accounting including capitalization, depreciation, and physical inventory tracking.
· Oversees prepaid expenses and accrued liability schedules.
· Monitors TireHub’s transactions and reconciliations.
Compliance & Audit Support
· Researches and interprets technical accounting guidance to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
· Prepares comprehensive audit schedules, supporting documentation, and PBC (Prepared by Client) requests for external audits.
· Serves as primary point of contact for external auditors during fieldwork, responding to information requests and inquires.
· Supports tax compliance efforts by providing necessary schedules and documentation to tax preparers.
· Assists with regulatory filings and compliance requirements as needed.
· Stay current on changes to accounting standards and assess impact on company financial reporting.
Internal Controls & SOX Compliance
· Executes and documents internal controls procedures to ensure compliance with SOX requirements and company policies.
· Identifies control weaknesses and collaborate with management to implement remediation plans.
· Maintains documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Process Improvement & System Enhancement
· Proactively identifies and recommends opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and increase close/reporting efficiency.
· Leads or participates in process improvement initiatives and special projects.
· Collaborates with IT and other departments on system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.
· Develops and maintain procedure documentation, training materials, and knowledge base resources.
· Mentors and provides guidance to junior accounting staff.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Partners with FP&A, Operations, Sales, and other departments to ensure alignment on financial report and business objectives.
· Provides financial expertise and support to cross-functional projects and initiatives.
· Communicates effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
· Builds strong working relationships across the organization to facilitate information flow and problem-solving.
Training & Compliance
· Ensures individual personal adherence to TireHub policies, procedures, and guidelines.
· Participates and maintains ongoing training requirements through in-person, virtual or computer-based learning modules as assigned.
· Completes other tasks assigned by their supervisor or another member of Leadership, as requested.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Business (MAcc, MBA, etc.) preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment preferred.
- 3+ years in public accounting experience will be considered with demonstrated readiness to independently own close and reporting responsibilities.
- Proven experience managing complete month-end close processes and preparing financial statements.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, month-end close procedures, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Demonstrated experience preparing comprehensive financial reporting packages and supporting external audits.

- Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex financial concept to non-financial audiences.
- Intermediate to advance Excel skills required (pivot tables, VLOKKUP, formulas, data analysis).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while knowing when to escalate issues.
- Professional demeanor and strong business acumen.
- Ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
- Strong attention to detail, data analytical skills, visualization tools, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- CPA license or active CPA candidate.
- Public accounting experience with Big 4 or national/regional firm.
- Exposure to ASC 842 lease accounting, ASC 606 revenue recognition, or other complex accounting standards.
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly Epicor P21.
- Proficiency with business intelligence and reporting tools, particularly Power BI.
- Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls documentation.
- Previous experience mentoring or supervising team(s).
Working Conditions:
· This is a fast-paced and dynamic operating environment.
· Majority of time is spent sitting, constantly viewing monitors in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move around. There may be occasions to move or lift light articles.
· Must be able to work flexible hours during routinely critical times to support the department, including month-end, quarter-end, year-end close periods, and audits.
· Occasional extended hours may be required during peak periods (financial reporting deadlines, budgeting, audits)
· This role is based in our headquarters office in Dunwoody, GA and requires a strong in-person presence.
· Must be able to travel up to 10% for training, conferences, or other company locations as needed.
