Prairie Co-op is hiring a Director of Finance to lead our Finance department based out of our Administration Office in Melville, SK.
Reporting to the General Manager, this is a key leadership role that will collaborate with the senior leadership team to contribute to the overall strategic planning and decision-making for Prairie Co-op. The Director will be responsible for implementing financial strategies, managing accounting and budgeting, and ensuring the financial health of our organization. The ideal candidate is a proactive and experienced leader with a strong background in finance and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of financial practice.
What you’ll do:
- Provide leadership for the Prairie Co-op’s Finance function, including general accounting, cost management, budgeting and IT.
- Develop and foster strong working relationships within the leadership team, actively participate in strategic planning and decision making, and participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and programs.
- Oversee the development and execution of the Prairie Co-op’s overall financial strategy, including accounting/financial reporting, budgeting, tax, audits, and external investing activities.
- Provide financial analyses, studies, and counsel on matters of significant financial impact, including economic/competitive trends, pricing, cash flow, product line evaluation, and capital additions.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Finance and:
- You have a Bachelor of Commerce/Business degree with a major in finance or accounting. A professional accounting designation such as CPA is considered an asset.
- You have over 10 years of progressively responsible experience in finance, with prior leadership experience.
- You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
