Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Grower Accountant to support financial and accounting functions within the agriculture industry. This role will collaborate closely with operations and finance to ensure accurate crop costing, grower reconciliations, and timely reporting. The ideal candidate brings agriculture accounting exposure, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities of the Grower Accountant Prepare monthly grower accounting statements and reconciliationsTrack crop production activity, harvest data, inputs, and costs by ranch/blockPerform grower settlements and ensure timely payments and accrualsPartner with operations to validate production reports and cost allocationsSupport budgeting and forecasting related to crop financialsMaintain accurate crop inventory and costing recordsAssist with month-end close, journal entries, and financial reportingSupport audits and provide documentation as neededIdentify process improvements to enhance accuracy and timeliness
Qualifications of the Grower Accountant Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Agribusiness, or related field, preferred not required 2-4 years of accounting experienceStrong understanding of accrual accounting conceptsProficiency in Excel and ERP/financial systemsAbility to interpret production data and cost driversExcellent organizational and communication skills
