We’re looking for a Senior AI & Data Scientist to join our Protection Data Science and LabTech team in Helsinki. The team builds and runs the systems behind our scam and URL protection — turning data, models, and experimentation into real-world security for millions of users.
This is an applied, end-to-end role for someone who enjoys taking machine learning from idea to production. You’ll work on models that operate at massive scale — handling billions of requests per day — and help decide what’s malicious, what’s normal, and what needs closer attention. The focus is on impact: building models that actually run in production, adapt over time, and make a measurable difference.
You’ll work closely with engineers, researchers, and product stakeholders, combining experimentation with solid engineering and MLOps practices. We value curiosity, clear thinking, and a pragmatic approach to solving messy, real-world problems.
We work in an agile way and encourage experimentation and learning. Remote work is flexible, but the team meets at the office about once a week for co-working and team time. If you’re currently outside Finland, we can support relocation to Helsinki.
Key responsibilities in this role:
- Drive applied ML and AI work behind scam and URL protection features
- Develop high-performance ML models for URL verdicting and behavioral anomaly detection
- Design, train, evaluate, and validate models using frameworks such as PyTorch
- Own experimentation and model evaluation, including A/B testing and statistical analysis
- Collaborate with data engineers on ETL pipelines and feature management, including feature stores
- Identify and explore new data sources to unlock additional modeling opportunities
- Deploy models to production as high-performance services (e.g. FastAPI/Flask, Docker, ECS)
- Implement model monitoring, drift detection, and automated retraining where appropriate
- Contribute to roadmap decisions around new ML use cases, data needs, and technical direction
- Translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
What are we looking for?
- Strong foundation in machine learning and statistics
- Supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, time series, NLP, Transformers
- Strong Python skills and experience with the scientific stack (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch)
- Experience building end-to-end ML systems, from research and experimentation to production
- Hands-on MLOps experience: deployment, versioning, monitoring, and operating time-critical ML systems
- Experience working with AWS services (e.g. SageMaker, Lambda, ECS, CloudWatch)
- Solid SQL skills for data exploration and analysis
- Ability to communicate clearly, create technical direction, and influence stakeholders
- Willingness to relocate to Finland if currently based elsewhere
- Full professional proficiency in English (our working language)
Bonus points for
- Experience working on security-related problems or familiarity with security concepts
- Experience with Big Data tools such as Apache Spark or Databricks
- Experience with feature stores and feature engineering pipelines
- CI/CD practices for ML models
- Experience building or running A/B testing frameworks
- Knowledge of Bayesian methods or causal inference
