Job title: Finance Analyst

Location: London
Hours: 9:30am – 5:30pm (flexibility required)
Department: Finance — Financial Planning & Analysis
Reports to: Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive Finance Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow their analytical skillset, work closely with senior stakeholders, and contribute to key financial insights that shape business decisions.

In this role, you will support Partners, Fee Earners, Business Managers, and the Senior Finance team by delivering high‑quality reporting, analysis, and financial insight. You’ll also have the chance to develop your skills in reporting tools and dashboard creation, collaborating closely with colleagues across Finance to ensure key deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis

  • Support the FP&A Manager and Head of FP&A with analysis for monthly reporting.
  • Respond to queries received via the FP&A inbox, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution.
  • Deliver ad‑hoc analysis and presentations as requested by senior finance stakeholders.

Reporting

  • Prepare and deliver a range of weekly and monthly reports for stakeholders across the business.
  • Produce ad‑hoc reports as required, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

Planning & Budgeting

  • Assist in the annual budget, reforecasting, and 3‑year planning cycles.
  • Load and reconcile data within the core budgeting system and produce relevant reporting and analysis.

Projects & Development

  • Work closely with the financial systems team to automate reports using Power BI or other reporting tools.
  • Build effective relationships across the firm and contribute to a variety of business and finance projects.

About You

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Qualifications

  • University degree (2:1 or equivalent), ideally in a numerate subject.
  • Part‑qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW) — advantageous but not essential.

Experience

  • Experience in a reporting and analysis role, supporting both finance leaders and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to develop, enhance, and implement reports to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Working knowledge of reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience in Professional Services is beneficial but not required.

Skills

  • Strong commercial awareness with excellent analytical skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, lookups, and handling large datasets).
  • Proficiency with Power BI/Tableau, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ambition to develop technological and AI‑driven reporting capabilities.

Why Join Us?

You’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive Finance team and gain valuable experience within a professional services environment. If you’re enthusiastic, eager to grow, and ready for your next challenge — we’d love to hear from you.

What can we offer you?

  • Carers’ leave (up to five paid days’ leave towards caring responsibilities)
  • 25 days’ annual leave entitlement and the opportunity to purchase or roll over 5 days.
  • Contributory pension of up to 5%.
  • Private healthcare policy
  • Death in service cover (4 x base salary).
  • Eligibility to apply for an interest free season ticket loan, an interest free gym membership loan and/or an interest free rental deposit loan.
  • Cycle to work scheme.

 What happens next?

Once your application has been submitted and reviewed, our Recruitment team will share the outcome with you by email.

We typically hold two interview stages per vacancy providing the opportunity to meet two members of the hiring team at each stage. The first stage is typically conducted virtually and the second stage typically in person at the office in which the role would be based. However, we strive to remain flexible depending on the requirements of the role or the candidate.

Our strength lies in our differences.

We are a Disability Confident and top Stonewall employer, a Valuable 500 member, a founding member of the Mindful Business Charter, signatory of the Race at Work Charter and a proud partner of Neurodiversity in Law. We encourage and value different ideas and styles of thinking. It’s with different perspectives that we’ll find solutions to our clients’ most complex challenges. It’s how we’ll deliver outstanding results today, and tomorrow. We want everybody attending an interview to be comfortable and able to fully demonstrate their experience and talents.
