The opportunity                                                                                

The Digital Product Manager role sits within our North Digital Product & Design team, which is accountable for the North digital product offer.  The role centres around creating seamless digital experiences which allow advisers to effectively prepare, executive and report on advice strategies through North while simultaneously delivering a streamlined and efficient service experience.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our platform and advancing our mission to become the easiest platform for advisers to do business with. As a key leader on one of North’s most innovative and strategic initiatives, you will be responsible for defining and delivering a digital solution for a first‑of‑its‑kind product that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in the advice industry.

Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will translate a bold vision into a tangible, market‑leading solution. You’ll partner with cross‑functional delivery teams to bring this product to life, developing new digital experiences that deliver class‑leading, end‑to‑end online journeys for advisers and their clients.

Description of division and business unit

Platforms is a business unit within the AMP Australia Wealth Management division and has end to end accountability for the strategy, development, operation and financial outcomes of AMP’s Wealth Management Wrap administration platforms. 

About the role:

  • Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of a new strategic product, shaping the solution and value proposition while ensuring strong alignment to adviser needs and North’s strategic priorities.
  • Work collaboratively with our Operations, Technology, Distribution and Marketing and Adviser representative groups to carve out product solutions and roadmaps that delivers high quality customer experiences and improves business metrics.
  • Manage and prioritises backlog to deliver on objectives and key commercial outcomes. 
  • Work closely with IT delivery teams to deliver innovative digital solutions and ensure that they are aligned on direction, solution, and business priorities.
  • Work together with UX Design team on delivery of best-in-class user experiences.
  • Work with distribution and marketing to support go-to-market activities for enhancements and product launches.
  • Accountable for the results (customer and business) of your product. 

About you:

  • Experience operating in digital product development (5+)
  • Previous experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner with a strong expertise in new product development and product optimisation in product-led organisations (5+ years)
  • Someone who is obsessed with the customers and has a track record of addressing their needs through innovative use of technology
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to break down complex problems, deliver real-world business outcomes and handle changing priorities
  • Proven ability to influence outcomes at all levels of the organisation
  • Strategic thinking - can analyse and synthesise information and connect the dots to determine an appropriate strategic approach whilst taking a whole of business perspective.
  • Preferred (but not mandatory) experience in the Australian wealth management market (3+ years) across products, platforms, superannuation and retirement income products.
