Key Responsibilities

1. Program & Delivery Management

  • Own the overall EBS upgrade delivery lifecycle: Assessment, Planning, Execute, Test, Cutover, Hypercare

  • Define and manage detailed project plans, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths

  • Track and report on schedule, scope, cost, quality, and risks

  • Drive governance cadence: Steering Committee, PMO reviews, RAID management

2. Technical Leadership & Coordination

  • Coordinate across DBA, Apps Technical, Functional, Infrastructure, Security, and Integration teams

  • Ensure execution of upgrade technical tracks:

    • Pre-upgrade readiness & custom code analysis

    • Database upgrade

    • EBS application upgrade (R12.2.x)

    • Online Patching (ADOP) readiness

    • Customizations retrofit (Forms, Reports, Interfaces, Workflows)

  • Validate technical decisions, sequencing, and dependency management

3. Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Oversee SIT, UAT, Performance Testing, and Regression Testing phases

  • Ensure robust test planning, defect triage, and closure governance

  • Validate test coverage for:

    • Critical business flows

    • Custom objects

    • Integrations & reports

4. Cutover & Go-Live Management

  • Lead cutover planning and execution including mock cutovers

  • Coordinate downtime planning, rollback strategy, and business readiness

  • Ensure readiness across:

    • Data validation

    • User access & security

    • Integrations and downstream systems

5. Risk, Issue & Dependency Management

  • Proactively identify and mitigate upgrade-specific risks:

    • Customization complexity

    • Performance degradation

    • Integration failures

    • Extended downtime

  • Maintain RAID log with clear ownership and resolution timelines

6. Stakeholder & Communication Management

  • Act as the single point of accountability for customer and SI leadership

  • Provide executive-level status reports, dashboards, and decision papers

  • Manage cross-vendor dependencies (Oracle Support, hosting partners, third-party vendors)

7. Compliance, Security & Support Readiness

  • Ensure alignment with:

    • Oracle Premier / Extended Support requirements

    • Security and audit standards (SOX, ITGC where applicable)

  • Oversee post-go-live stabilization and hypercare support transition

Required Skills & Experience

Mandatory

  • Strong experience managing Oracle EBS Upgrade projects (11i / R12.x → R12.2.x)

  • Solid understanding of:

    • EBS Architecture & Technical Components

    • ADOP / Online Patching

    • Custom code retrofit strategy

    • Interfaces, reports, conversions, workflows

  • Proven experience in cutover & go-live leadership

  • Excellent stakeholder, communication, and escalation management skills

Nice to Have

  • Prior hands-on experience as Oracle Apps Technical Lead / DBA / Architect

  • Exposure to:

    • OCI / Cloud hosting for EBS

    • Oracle Support SR management during upgrades

    • EBS integrations with Fusion / 3rd party systems

  • PMP / PRINCE2 / Agile certification
