Role Overview

This position is accountable for overseeing the complete Corporate & Fund Finance operations, ensuring efficient reporting and control over funds, import expenditures, capital expenditures, investments, and assets. The role will report directly to the country head and will have a dotted line reporting relationship to the Group Finance team located in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the entire financial accounting and compliance functions for both the Corporate and Fund entities.
  • Ensure the preparation of the consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements within deadlines while maintaining accurate accounting records.
  • Handle statistical and regulatory reporting to government organizations.
  • Manage the financial and operational budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare cash flow balances and forecasts.
  • Guarantee the accurate and timely processing of income distributions.
  • Handle SST, withholding tax, FATCA, CRS, tax returns, and ensure timely submissions.
  • Review the costing schedules for development projects in a timely manner.
  • Assist in reviewing reports on tax structure, financial and tax due diligence, and related tasks for M&A transactions.
  • Oversee, monitor, and accurately account for onshore and offshore loans and hedging arrangements.
  • Ensure that Transfer Pricing documentation is in place for related party transactions.
  • Maintain strict compliance with all accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory and legal requirements (including Limited Partnership Agreements) related to the Malaysian fund.
  • Manage internal audits conducted within the Group.
  • Serve as the administrator for the Group's bank accounts.
  • Participate in the Group’s initiatives for systems implementation and BI reporting.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including the Group, investors, bankers, auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, and regulatory bodies.
  • Support the Head of Business Development in acquisition negotiations and facilitate the smooth closing of transactions.
  • Assist the Funds Management and Finance teams in securing bank and debt financing for projects in Malaysia and ensure compliance with bank covenants.

Requirements

  • Degree in accountancy or equivalent with minimum 8 years of accounting experience
  • Excellent time management to be able to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative, work without supervision and assume full responsibility for completion of tasks
  • Proactive and willing to look for ways to improve processes and procedures
  • Highly flexible and adaptable in a changing and demanding environment
