
About this role
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Product Vision & Strategy: Define, articulate, and communicate the product vision, strategy, and objectives to stakeholders and the development team.
- Product Roadmap: Understand and communicate the product roadmap, aligning it with business goals and market opportunities.
- Backlog Management: Create, prioritize, and manage the product backlog. This includes defining clear, concise, and well-understood user stories, epics, and features with detailed acceptance criteria.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison between the product management team and the development team. Gather and synthesize feedback from all parties.
- Development Team Liaison: Work closely with the development team throughout the sprint lifecycle, clarifying requirements, answering questions, and ensuring the team understands the product goals.
- Agile Ceremonies: Actively participate in and facilitate key Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives.
- Acceptance & Validation: Inspect and accept or reject work completed by the development team based on defined acceptance criteria and overall product quality standards.
- Value Maximization: Continuously focus on maximizing the value delivered by the product and the development team.
COMPETENCIES
Core Competencies (Must-have Competencies)
- Proven experience working as a Product Owner or in a similar role within an Agile (Scrum, Kanban) development environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in system integration with a solid understanding of basic coding practices, database technologies (SQL), and data modeling concepts (JSON, XML, ERD, workflow/dataflow diagrams).
- Knowledge of Service Now Platform, specifically the Field Services module (FSM)
- Strong understanding of Agile principles, frameworks, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into actionable product requirements and user stories.
- Experience with backlog management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Trello).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Nice to have:
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar Agile certification.
- Technical background or familiarity with software development lifecycles.
- Experience with user research, usability testing, and data analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Qualification/s
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
