Job Summary: The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the organization’s network infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing connectivity across all locations. This role supports business operations by managing LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud-connected networks, troubleshooting complex network issues, and ensuring network availability and security.

The Network Engineer works closely with IT leadership, security teams, and business stakeholders to support current initiatives, scalability, and future growth. The position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, enterprise environment while adhering to best practices and compliance standards. This is a hybrid work environment.  Team members are expected to work three days a week in the corporate office and two days a week in the home office.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Design, implement, operate, and support a global enterprise network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize LAN, WAN, and campus networks, including routing, switching, and network segmentation.
  • Administer and maintain network security devices, including next-generation firewalls, VPNs, routers, and switches.
  • Perform firmware upgrades, configuration changes, and lifecycle management for all network hardware.
  • Partner with internal application, infrastructure, and security teams to assess network dependencies, identify performance impacts, and translate business and application requirements into technical network solutions.
  • Lead and support the deployment and expansion of enterprise network initiatives, including site rollouts, network refreshes, and capacity planning.
  • Monitor network performance and availability using enterprise monitoring tools, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Manage and enforce vendor SLAs, working directly with service providers to troubleshoot circuit issues and drive timely resolution.
  • Design, implement, and support VoIP and unified communications solutions, including QoS configuration and traffic prioritization.
  • Create, maintain, and document detailed network diagrams, standards, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Support and manage enterprise wireless networks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable, secure network architectures and recommend improvements aligned with industry best practices.

 

Qualifications & Skills:
  • 5+ years of experience in Network Engineering
  • Experience with implementing a NAC solution
  • Experience with Network segmentation
  • Experience with working with MSP
  • Experience working with Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, FortiGate, Meraki, SD-WAN, Azure/AWS networking
  • Network certifications such as CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, BS/MS in EE/CS/CE or equivalent experience

 

Work Environment & Physical Requirements (if applicable):
  • This is a hybrid work environment.  Team members are expected to work three days a week in the corporate office and two days a week in the home office.
  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently
  • Subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs.
