Senior Financial Accountant

Symons Clark Logistics is a 150-year-old, family owned, Port Adelaide based transport and logistics company. Our experience brings with it premium wharf cartage and container transport services, with a focus on providing customers with complete logistics solutions including warehousing, container pack/unpack, distribution, over-dimensional, heavy haulage, project logistics and Australia wide bulk haulage.

Due to continued growth, Symons Clark Logistics is seeking a proactive and detail-focused Financial Accountant to join our Finance Team.

Working closely with stakeholders across Symons Clark Logistics, the Financial Accountant will be able to leverage their financial accounting knowledge to support and improve month-end process, strengthen controls, and identify system enhancements.

What you will be doing…

• Preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to support performance visibility and decision-making.
• Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to drive continuous improvement in month-end processes.
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, taxation obligations, and regulatory requirements (including BAS, PAYG, FBT, Payroll Tax, Superannuation and WorkCover).
• Undertaking general ledger reconciliations to ensure data integrity across financial systems.
• Assisting with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Assisting with monitoring performance against financial and commercial objectives to aid decision-making.
• Identifying and implementing improvements to financial systems and processes.
• Providing data and analysis to support business cases and operational decision-making.
• Supporting Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll as required.

Do you have…

• CA/CPA qualifications.
• Experience in a Financial Accountant or similar technical accounting role.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, compliance requirements, and month-end processes.
• High attention to detail, analytical capability, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, nature and manage positive working relationships and excellent stakeholder skills.
• A proactive, improvement-focused approach and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
