About the role
We have an opportunity for a motivated paralegal to join our Sydney Personal Injury team. You will be enthusiastic and pragmatic in your approach, possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to liaise with clients directly. You will have a keen eye for detail and excellent time management skills.
The role will predominantly involve working within our growing personal injury practice which includes motor accident, workers compensation, work injury damages, public liability and medical negligence claims.
Ideally you will possess a minimum of one years’ experience in plaintiff personal injury law. Experience in motor accidents and workers compensation claims will be highly regarded. This role would suit an individual looking to continue and grow their career as a Paralegal in personal injury.
Key Duties
In this paralegal role, your day-to-day duties may include:
• Drafting general correspondence (e.g. letter of Advice, briefing letter to barristers);
• Drafting briefs and Court documents (e.g. Briefs, Cost Assessment applications, Short Minutes of Order, Affidavits of Service, Court Bundles);
• Liaising with clients;
• Preparing Cost Schedules;
• Legal research tasks;
• Reviewing and/or creating case summaries and articles; and
• Other adhoc tasks as required.
Skills and Experience
• Penultimate or final year University student completing Bachelor of Laws or equivalent or a career paralegal;
• Minimum one years previous experience in personal injury;
• Excellent attention to detail together with strong verbal and written communication skills;
• Well-developed time management skills;
• A willingness to learn, positive approach and strong initiative;
• Intermediate to advanced skills in the MS Office suite.
