JOB SUMMARY
The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for installing, configuring, testing, and documenting the network infrastructure according to Trinet's standard design and specifications. In addition to supporting the company's on-premises equipment, this position will have responsibility for maintaining the network of a multi-cloud environment. The Senior level engineer requires specialized knowledge of Cisco, F5, and Palo Alto equipment and will require the ability to make independent judgement in their duties
Essential Duties/Responsibilites:
- Configuring and deploying new network equipment, while documenting setup and enforcing network standards.
- Driving the creation of automation for monitoring network systems to ensure optimum performance. Ensure those network systems are secure by enforcing policies and monitoring access. Approaches network design and support with network security in mind.
- Mentoring and coaching junior network engineers.
- Facilitate the resolution of critical incidents, scheduling of upgrades and network changes, and collaboration with the network architect on network optimization. Ensure that all network tickets are handled within their SLAs.
- Supporting branch offices and reporting circuit problems to the network providers. Conducting problem resolution with the provider’s technical staff and verifying post-resolution network performance.
- Managing projects such as field office standardization, hardware upgrades, office openings or closings, and M&A activities. This includes working with other groups in IT and the business to schedule and coordinate implementations. Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager’s discretion.
- Supporting of corporate infrastructure to identify and resolve network related problems. Which includes working in a 24/7/365 environment and responding to major technical emergencies as part of an on call-rotation. In addition, off hours support is occasionally required for maintenance and change windows.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor'sDegree in MIS, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent required.
Work Experience
- Typically, 5+ years of experience supporting corporate networks.
- Typically, 5+ years of experience configuring and supporting Cisco IOS routers and switches
- Typically, 5+ years years of experience with Palo Alto Networks. This includes knowledge of Global Protect based VPN.
- Typically, 3+ years of experience with EIGRP, including prefix-lists, route-tags and route-maps.
- Knowledge in Amazon Virtual Private Clouds, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and Microsoft Azure preferred.
Licenses and Certifications Required/Preferred:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate CCNA and/or CCNP certification preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and concise memos, recommendations, and status reports.
- Must be able to interact at multiple levels of the corporation with patience, courtesy, diplomacy, and professionalism. TriNet is a team environment and supporting the business and other groups in IT requires a candidate that can be approachable and helpful.

- Strong understanding of network monitoring and performance management platforms and tools.
- Must demonstrate strong aptitude in logical and analytical thinking, with the ability to independently research and solve network problems\outages.
- Job experience with cloud technologies, routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. Ability to learn new technologies quickly and independently.
