Job Description
Your contribution to something big:
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in our Special Machine Building team, you will shape the next generation of tailor‑made machines and tools for advanced assembly lines. Your ideas will move from concept to shop floor, driving innovation where precision and creativity meet.
- Design & development: Create 3D mechanical designs, assemblies, and detailed part lists for customized machines and tools used in final assembly.
- Concept creation: Lead mechanical concept development, integrating innovative solutions with manufacturability, safety, and ease of maintenance.
- Cross‑functional collaboration: Work closely with electrical, automation, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure technical, functional, and operational alignment.
- Data management: Manage product data using our Product Data Management (PDM) system (Autodesk Vault).
- Supplier interaction: Conduct on‑site acceptance testing at supplier facilities to validate compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Industrialization support: Ensure equipment readiness and availability across key industrialization milestones.
Qualifications
What distinguishes you:
Education
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Mechatronics, Automation, or similar).
Experience
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience in machine or equipment development;
- Experience working in cross‑functional and international teams;
- Exposure to robotics, machine programming, or MES integration is a plus.
Know‑how
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD tools, including detailed mechanical modeling;
- Strong understanding of tolerance chains, mechanical principles, and manufacturing processes;
- Experience with PLM/PDM systems (Autodesk Vault preferred);
- Knowledge of machine vision systems, robotics, or automation technologies (e.g., C#, Universal Robotics, Cognex) is an advantage.
Languages
- Fluent in English;
- Additional languages are a plus.
