Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future.  

 

Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security. 

 

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst in Melbourne to work on CASG projects 

 

What You’ll Do  
 

This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including: 

  • Lead business requirements analysis to support ongoing upgrades and enhancements to the Defence ERP system. 

  • Design, map, and implement procurement business processes, driving system, policy, and organisational change aligned to Defence frameworks. 

  • Collaborate with Defence and industry stakeholders to ensure ERP procurement workflows are compliant with Defence policy and best practice. 

  • Support ERP adoption and uplift activities, identifying impacts to process, policy, and training across Defence. 

  • Develop, review, and maintain Defence-ready ERP documentation, ensuring compliance, governance, and consistency with Defence standards. 


What You’ll Bring 

  •  Demonstrated experience in commercial or procurement roles, ideally within Defence or complex public sector environments. 

  • Strong understanding of Commonwealth procurement and end-to-end procure-to-pay processes. 

  • Familiarity with complex Defence procurement activities, operating within governed, policy-driven frameworks. 

  • Proven ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders across large, multi-layered organisations. 

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently, while contributing effectively within multi-disciplinary teams. 

  

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Baseline or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
