Role Detail
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented and experienced Practice Assistant to join our Melbourne Real Estate team. You will have the opportunity to work with Partner and Practice Leader, Simone Menz and Partner Andrew Barrett and their friendly team.
This position is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis and offers the chance to take initiative and anticipate the needs of the Partners and their team. In this role you will leverage your exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail to stay one step ahead.
The key responsibilities for this role include:
- Preparing, formatting, and amending legal documents
- Handling billing, expenses, and WIP reporting
- Opening and closing files, archiving, and maintaining electronic and physical filing systems
- Building and maintaining strong client and internal relationships
- Liaising with clients, answering calls, and taking messages
- Managing diaries, inboxes, meetings, and travel arrangements
- Maintaining confidentiality and data protection at all times
- Providing ad hoc general administrative support including scanning and printing

About You
- Minimum of 3 years in a legal support role (such as Legal Assistant, Practice Assistant, Legal Executive or Legal Secretary)
- Sound knowledge of the monthly billing process in a legal environment – experience with Elite is highly regarded
- Ability to handle competing priorities
- Typing speed of 70+ wpm
- Advanced knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to analyse, problem solve and apply appropriate use of judgement
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, choosing an appropriate style for your audience
- Strong attention to detail
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
