About the role

Xirgo Technologies is seeking an IT Manager to lead global IT operations in a cloud-first environment.

This role ensures secure and reliable services across infrastructure, identity, collaboration, networks, and business systems. You will line manage a developing international team and support compliance with Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO/IEC 27001, and SOC 2 certifications.

This position demands a strong technical background combined with solid organizational and communication skills. Security and privacy are at the forefront of Xirgo operations, and the successful candidate will demonstrate a strong security mindset and commitment to safeguarding systems and data.

Location Requirement:

This role requires the successful candidate to work from the Belfast office. Hybrid working will be available where work requirements allow. Remote arrangements are not available for this position.

What you'll do

Infrastructure & Operations

  • Own the global IT infrastructure roadmap and oversee day-to-day service delivery in a Microsoft-native, cloud-first environment.
  • Ensure high availability and performance across identity, endpoint, collaboration, and network services.
  • Manage network connectivity, VPN, Wi-Fi, routing and switching, certificates, and secure remote access.
  • Operate a pragmatic service desk with ITIL-aligned processes, clear runbooks, and measurable SLAs.

Endpoint, Identity & Collaboration

  • Administer and optimize Entra ID/Azure AD, Intune, and Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).
  • Maintain secure configuration baselines and patching for Windows, Linux, and macOS.
  • Champion user experience and timely communication across regions and time zones.

Security & Compliance

  • Operate and improve security tooling and controls including Microsoft suite.
  • Support certification-aligned operations (Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2) and audit readiness.
  • Monitor and respond to threats across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Supervise SIEM/SOAR operations (Microsoft Sentinel).

Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery

  • Maintain and periodically test backup, recovery, and DR plans for critical services.
  • Coordinate tabletop exercises and post-incident reviews.

Business Systems & Engineering Tools

  • Oversee technical aspects of ERP, CRM, CLM, and HRIS systems.
  • Partner with Engineering and PMO on GitLab, Arena (PLM), Jira, and Confluence to ensure secure and reliable operation.
  • Support workflow automation, integrations, and process improvements.

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Provision and de-provision identities, access, and devices.
  • Automate secure employee transitions and maintain accurate asset and license records.

Vendor & Contract Management

  • Lead vendor selection, RFQ/RFP, SLAs, and renewals.
  • Optimize costs, manage licenses, and ensure vendor compliance.

IT Strategy & Leadership

  • Deliver the technology roadmap and manage budgets.
  • Set objectives, coach, and develop a small global IT team.
  • Provide KPIs, risk updates, and improvement plans to leadership.

DevOps for Xirgo Production Cloud Applications

  • Assist in formal production change management and change control.
  • Support application and component monitoring in AWS and Azure; manage performance and cost.
  • Assist with CI/CD pipelines where necessary

Experience / Qualifications

  • Proven experience in IT management leading infrastructure and operations in a Microsoft-native environment.
  • Appropriate degree or equivalent
  • Strong Microsoft/Windows administration with working proficiency in Linux and macOS.
  • Networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DHCP/DNS, VPN, firewalls, and Wi-Fi.
  • Experience running ITIL processes and a high-quality service desk.
  • People leadership for a distributed team.
  • Track record supporting compliance and audits for Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO/IEC 27001, and SOC 2.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management across regions and time zones.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with Microsoft Sentinel or equivalent SIEM/SOAR.
  • Scripting and automation (PowerShell, bash) and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Exposure to IoT or telematics environments.
