Following a successful and intensive R&D phase, the company is now entering a period of commercialisation, manufacturing, and global deployment. To support this next chapter, we are seeking an experienced Cost & Management Accountant to build and lead our cost accounting and management reporting capability from the ground up.

This is a hands-on, influential role where you’ll work closely with operations, engineering, and Corporate Services to deliver robust costing frameworks, insightful reporting, and commercial decision support as the business scales into production and offshore delivery.

The Role

Reporting into the COO and working closely with Corporate Services, you’ll be responsible for establishing cost models, management reporting, and financial insights that directly support manufacturing, installation, and global service delivery.

You’ll play a key role in shaping how costs are understood, controlled, and optimised across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Accounting & Financial Modelling

  • Build and implement cost accounting frameworks for manufacturing and assembly
  • Develop detailed product costing models (BOMs, labour, overheads, operational drivers)
  • Establish standard costing, variance analysis, and margin reporting
  • Support pricing decisions and commercial deal evaluation

Management Accounting & Reporting

  • Design and deliver monthly management reporting for the COO and executive team
  • Provide forecasts, scenario modelling, and forward-looking commercial insights
  • Track operational KPIs across production, installation, and offshore support
  • Develop dashboards covering cost performance, utilisation, and productivity

Commercialisation & Manufacturing Support

  • Support the transition from R&D to structured manufacturing
  • Analyse cost impacts of design changes, supply chain decisions, and production methods
  • Contribute to planning for installation, commissioning, and ongoing support services

Financial Operations & Collaboration

  • Work closely with Corporate Services across P&L, balance sheet, payroll, procurement, and audit
  • Integrate cost accounting outputs into wider corporate reporting

Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Implement or enhance ERP/MRP costing modules
  • Improve cost-tracking processes and financial controls
  • Drive continuous improvement across the end-to-end value chain

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or similar
  • CPA / CA qualified (or working towards)
  • 5+ years’ experience in cost or management accounting, ideally in manufacturing, engineering, biotech, or similar environments
  • Strong experience with ERP/MRP costing systems
  • Proven ability to build frameworks, models, and reporting processes from scratch
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and finance teams
