The Opportunity
TVO Today is looking for a graphic designer to join our creative digital video team. We are looking for someone who can help us take our digital content creation to the next level. We will count on you to be skilled and versatile, bringing treatment suggestions, strong visual story-telling capabilities, and the ability to trouble-shoot under tight deadlines. You are the kind of designer that loves collaborating with producers and other content creators to come up with just the right imagery for a project. You have strong time-management skills. And you are on stop of developing trends in the fields of digital graphic design. But most important, we want you to be innovative. And help us leave the ordinary behind.
How you will make an impact
- Design digital graphic video primarily for YouTube and social media, with an understanding of best practices and SEO for the various platforms
- Be familiar with graphic trends and understand how to leverage them,
- Understand visual storytelling
- Create new templates and graphical treatments
- In conjunction with the Executive Producer, Digital and team members execute the creative vision of projects and ensure consistent quality and delivery of all graphic elements
- Use effective time management to work on multiple projects with varying timelines, scheduling and completing all required tasks as assigned
- Troubleshoot and help maintain in-house graphic systems
- Meet TVO's editorial and production standards
What you will bring to TVO
- University degree or equivalent post-secondary education in Graphic Design or Media Arts
- 3 - 5 years of professional graphic design and computer graphic software experience
- Exceptional experience with Photoshop, After Effect Lyric & Windows Art Tools
- Strong visual sense with the ability to take original ideas from concept to completion
- A passion for visual story telling using graphic design and a deep understanding of how it can be applied to social media and digital platforms
- Exceptional design and typography skills
- Experience and skills in visual research and photography/videography is an asset
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, databases)
- Experience strategizing and brainstorming in collaboration with a creative tea
- Experience adhere to style guides and maintain a project look and feel
