About the Team
The Global Safety and Security team advances DoorDash through the protection of people, property, operations, brand, and reputation. We manage safety and security risk and provide value across the business through technology, and a people-first approach. Our team strives to always be in front and there for our people anytime, anywhere.
About the Role
DoorDash is seeking an Associate Manager, Corporate Safety and Security to join our Global Safety and Security team. This role is based in Tempe, AZ and supports multiple centrally located offices, with regular travel required to assign sites to onboard and support team members, assess site conditions, and maintain strong operational presence.
In this role, you will serve as a regional owner for site-level safety and security execution. You will directly manage FTE Lobby Agents, ensure consistent security coverage, and act as a trusted local decision-maker during incidents. The work is hands-on and operational, balancing day-to-day execution with clear communication, documentation, and coordination across partners.
Beyond physical security, this role carries meaningful responsibility for employee safety. You will support emergency preparedness, contribute to site safety assessments, and ensure that life safety protocols are understood and consistently practiced by site teams. This includes reinforcing emergency action plans, coordinating readiness drills, and ensuring Corporate Safety and Security standards are reflected in how sites operate day-to-day.
You will work closely with Global Safety and Security leadership and cross-functional partners including Workplace Experience, Human Resources, Real Estate, and IT to ensure DoorDash offices operate safely, reliably, and in alignment with Corporate Safety and Security standards. This role is well-suited for someone who thrives in ambiguity, exercises strong judgment, and takes ownership of outcomes rather than just process.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
-
Own day-to-day safety and security execution across assigned Central offices, serving as the primary CSS point of contact on site
-
Directly manage and develop FTE Lobby Agents, including onboarding, coaching, performance management, and reinforcement of SOPs
-
Maintain regular site presence through travel to assigned offices to build relationships, assess risk, and support operational consistency
-
Coordinate with Workplace Experience and Global Operations Center on off-site corporate employee event security planning and execution
-
Act as a local decision-maker during incidents, ensuring calm response, clear escalation, and strong written follow-through
-
Identify gaps in site security posture through assessments and signal detection, and drive remediation with the right partners
-
Translate global CSS standards and playbooks into practical, site-level execution without unnecessary complexity
-
Build trust with cross-functional partners by showing up reliably, communicating clearly, and setting appropriate boundaries
We’re excited about you because you…
-
Have 4-6+ years of experience in corporate safety, security operations, or a related field, with exposure to multi-site or regional environments
-
Bring people leadership experience, including managing frontline teams, setting expectations, and enabling consistent execution
-
Are comfortable operating independently and making sound decisions in real-world, time-sensitive situations
-
Have working knowledge of physical security operations, including access control, visitor management, and incident response
-
Have foundational knowledge of occupational health and safety principles, including emergency action plan execution, OSHA compliance awareness, and life safety protocols at the site level
-
Have experience supporting or coordinating safety programs, including emergency response drills, safety culture initiatives, or incident investigations that go beyond security operations alone
-
Are familiar with OSHA standards and basic regulatory compliance requirements for workplace environments, and can make those standards practical and accessible for non-safety audiences like lobby staff, facilities teams, or security officers
-
Have experience identifying and escalating workplace health hazards or environmental risks, whether through formal audits, site walk-throughs, or day-to-day observation
-
Hold or are working toward a relevant safety credential such as OSHA 30-Hour General Industry, CPR/AED certification, or similar, and understand how those fundamentals support a safer workplace
-
Communicate clearly and calmly, especially in moments of uncertainty or escalation, and document decisions effectively
-
Know how to partner cross-functionally with Workplace, HR, Real Estate, and other teams without blurring ownership
-
Are execution-oriented, with a bias toward action and accountability rather than over-engineering solutions
-
Are comfortable using data, basic metrics, and emerging tools including AI to improve visibility and operational effectiveness
-
Take ownership of outcomes and follow through, even when paths are not fully defined
