Job Summary:

The Tax Senior, International Tax Services is responsible for utilizing research skills and applying their educational background to identify potential tax issues and planning opportunities for multinational businesses with operations in the U.S. and overseas with a focus on a large variety of industries. Compensation & Benefits

At Geffen Mesher, we value transparency and equity in compensation. The compensation offered for this position will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to: years of relevant experience, unique or specialized skill sets, education, licensure, internal equity, and location. The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000-$106,000.

Requirements

What you’ll be doing

Manage and coordinate tax compliance and advisory work for our auto dealership business clients.
Review Federal and State C-Corporation, S-Corporation, and Partnership tax returns.
Lead client relationships on day-to-day tax matters supporting partners with service execution and development of extended services.
Research and consult on technical matters and special projects.
Build and manage client relationships while developing and maintaining business development leads.
Serve in a leadership role on client projects, including planning and project management, resulting in the successful completion of tax planning, advisory, accounting, and compliance projects with exceptional client service.
Perform reviews of reports and other client deliverables to ensure the highest quality, while balancing firm risk and compliance with appropriate professional standards.
Identify and communicate internal business improvement opportunities.
Solve strategic issues requiring analytical skills and an in-depth understanding of tax regulations.

The Corporate Tax Senior is responsible for all corporate tax reporting and compliance work for the non-life entities within the Quilter Group. In addition, the role will be responsible for other areas such as Senior Accounting Officer compliance, Corporate Interest Restriction and looking to improve corporation tax system processes.

Key responsibilities

Provide or assist the business units with their tax accounting obligations in management and statutory accounts (e.g. current & deferred tax disclosures, etc..). Including dealing with external auditor queries in relation to tax matters in an efficient and timely manner.
Provide full corporate tax compliance service (incl. preparation of corporation tax computations and associated tax technical analysis).
Provide corporate tax advisory to the business units with support from Corporate Tax Business Partner.
Ensure that assigned BU tax affairs are aligned with the Quilter Tax Strategy
Responsibility for ensuring Senior Accounting Officer obligations are met for the year, including liaising with areas of the business to gather the information required.
Preparation of the Corporate Interest Restriction (CIR) return on a yearly basis ensuring it meets all tax technical requirements.
Investigating and implementing improvements to Tax systems used within the corporation tax compliance process, including looking at any usage of AI.
Monitor tax risks and escalate emerging risks as appropriate in line with the Tax Risk Policy and ensure adherence to the Financial Control Framework
Contribute to Tax team professional development needs through appropriate training.

About You

The successful candidate:

Our ideal candidate is tax qualified (ATT, CTA) or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) with relevant corporate tax experience working within a financial services environment and a good knowledge of other UK taxes.
Previous experience of using Alphatax for corporation tax compliance is desirable but not essential.
Our successful candidate has a positive and enthusiastic attitude, with good written and verbal communication skills
You will be highly organised and flexible with time management – you can prioritise and multitask at the same time whilst maintaining high standards of accuracy.

Requirements
Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Law or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus six (6) years of experience as a Tax Senior Manager or related occupation gaining experience providing tax research or preparing and reviewing client work papers and tax returns.

Experience must include six (6) years of:

Preparing federal and state income tax returns for partnerships and corporations, including private equity clients;
Utilizing tax software, including ONESOURCE and GoSystem, to prepare federal, state, local tax returns and calculate estimated tax and process filings;
Utilizing tax research tools, including BNA, CCH, and RIA Checkpoint, to provide tax compliance and consulting services to various clients;
Preparing quarterly estimated tax payments for partnerships, and preparing schedules for federal and state income tax returns;
Reviewing client-prepared equity allocations, preparing book-to-tax reconciliation, and creating taxable income allocations;
Preparing K-1 footnotes to disclose additional information on foreign reporting and special treatments of items reported;
Reviewing federal and state tax compliance and consulting projects for various private equity funds and complex fund of funds structure;
Performing complex tax allocations, carry and waterfall calculations, partnership basis adjustments, and federal and state withholding requirements for flow-through entities;
Performing inside and outside basis computations, section 704(c) and section 743(b) computations, section 743(b) calculations and process partner allocations in Schedule K-1 and K-3, including waterfall calculations; and
Interacting directly with senior management of the team and clients to discuss issue resolution and continuity, and assisting with supervising the full lifecycle of engagements, including staffing, budgeting, and closing out projects.

Less than 10% domestic travel required.

How you’ll spend your time:

Managing tax compliance and advisory services for energy sector clients, with a focus on upstream (E&P) oil and gas partnerships
Managing client engagements from planning to completion, ensuring efficiency and budget adherence
Identifying and leading a coordinated, cross functional team to pursue energy clients and emerging business development opportunities
Actively participating in strategy sessions, marketing calls and events with the regional and national team
Working with industry, service line engagement teams to ensure appropriate resources and deliverables are provided to our clients
Providing routine insight into the energy landscape and your associated clients based on your relevant and tangible experience and communicate it to firm leadership
Actively participating in and contributing to the industry and service line leadership providing perspective and commentary on areas of opportunity and challenge
Advising on complex tax matters, including IDC, tax depletion, depreciation, and E&P-specific deductions
Developing and implementing tax strategies to ensure compliance and optimizing client outcomes
Collaborating with external advisors, including attorneys and financial professionals, on client matters
Providing tax advisory on transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, and restructuring
Conducting tax research, preparing memorandums, and applying technical expertise to complex issues
Leading and mentoring engagement team, providing guidance, training, and career development
Supporting recruiting, retention, and team-building initiatives to strengthen the firm’s culture

CPA license
8+ years of prior experience working in the tax department of a public accounting firm, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff, upstream (E&P) oil and gas client experience required

Proven business development experience and success building a book of business

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Senior Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of tax experience, including high-net-worth individuals, corporate and partnerships. Qualifications

Proven experience in:
- Tax planning and strategy.
