Role Description:

The Scientific Communications Senior Manager is accountable for planning and delivering innovative scientific and medical content aligned to their designated Therapeutic Area / product (General Medicine, Inflammation, Oncology, Rare Disease, or Obesity), tailored to specific audiences globally via impactful formats and relevant channels.

Reporting to a Scientific Communications Therapeutic Area (TA) Lead in India, this leader manages a small team of scientific communication team members and drives the execution of tactical Scientific Communication plans for US and global regions to deliver our Medical and overall product strategies.

The Scientific Communications Senior Manager may directly partner with US/Regional Medical planning team and Scientific Communication Operations team members to drive process alignment, standardization, and adoption of innovation and transformational change.

This role is responsible for creating and leading high-performing and engaged teams to exceed expectations.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver high-quality, accurate, and innovative scientific and medical content (DSE/digital/MSL materials/FAQs/Medical Information Letters) tailored to specific audiences in the US and globally via impactful formats and relevant channels.

• Publication-related deliverables (manuscripts/abstracts/posters/Oral presentations, enhanced content).

• Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training of staff members.

• Support prioritization process, prepare and oversee team assignments to meet program goals on time and within budget.

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

Advanced scientific degree:

• Doctorate degree & 2 years of Global Publication OR Medical Communications OR Medical Value and Access OR Medical Strategy Experience.

• Master’s degree & 6 years OR

• Bachelor’s degree & 8 years OR

• Associates degree & 10 years AND

The Senior Manager, Scientific Communications will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the scientific communication strategy in preparation for and beyond our first product launch. Our teams need the most up-to-date information to enable contemporary scientific discourse, with the goal of improving patient outcomes. We believe that scientific communications are central to all we do in terms of disseminating data about our revolutionary science and potential best-in-class therapeutics across all audiences both internally and externally (i.e.: healthcare providers, patient advocates, and patients). This individual will be responsible for developing high-quality, accurate, and compelling scientific content for internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and scientific leaders.\n

Responsibilities

Lead the execution of the scientific communications plan aligned with the company’s medical and commercial strategies.
Create and manage scientific content including abstracts, posters, manuscripts, slide decks, FAQs, and scientific platforms.
Partner with a multi-disciplinary team across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Commercial, and Legal to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

What you will be doing in the role of a Scientific Communications Manager

The Scientific Communications Manager serves on a team of scientific experts who research and present on key topics, partners, and opportunities to develop communication products that may include high level talking points and reports which support external partnership meetings. What you will bring to the table

Create education approaches on clinical trials and topics relevant to breast cancer patients in a rapidly evolving landscape. Tailor innovative education programs to be accessible and responsive to patient needs. Partner with other mission teams to develop mission education content as assigned.
Provides scientific/subject matter expertise to the translation of research, technical and other complex content into meaningful lay-friendly communication as a partner to the communications team.

Strategic Partnership/Governance

Manage, prioritize, and execute medical initiatives to align with the strategic plan, monitor status and deliverables, and provide expertise related to Scientific Communications content and resource management requirements.
Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks while adhering to established business practice documents and implementing new processes, tools, and capabilities for process improvement.
Support metrics, chair oncology and enterprise-wide scientific communication forums, and develop business practice documentation.
Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans and lead or support key enterprise and cross-functional initiatives to ensure end-to-end alignment and coordination.
Provide leadership and coordination for Scientific Communications Lead Team (LT) meetings, overseeing the planning, organization, and management of all related sessions. Partner with Scientific Communications LT to develop agendas and ensure that meetings are conducted efficiently and effectively.

Financial/Budget Management

Work in partnership with Program Strategy Management on the Scientific Communications Operating Plan process, which includes forecasting, expenditure tracking, reporting, and risk mitigation.
In collaboration with Program Strategy Management, manage accruals and perform reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and accountability throughout the project(s) lifecycle.

Process Improvement/Compliance

Implement new business processes, tools, and capabilities for process improvement.
Collaborates with Pfizer US Commercial Medical Affairs teams to select, optimize, and integrate medical digital channels.
Champion voice of oncology business across the Pfizer enterprise including the therapeutic area community of scientific communications practice.

Metrics Support/Reporting

Partner with Scientific Communications LT to create standard metrics, tools, and dashboards for assessing and tracking the impact of scientific communication.
Monitors performance metrics, identifies and mitigates risks, and communicates key insights to management.
Partners with AI/Innovation and Digital teams to implement analytics solutions that align scientific communications priorities to support data-driven decision-making processes.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

Educational Qualifications:

Scientific degree required (PharmD/PhD with 5+ years of experience, MBA/MSc with 7+ years of experience, BA/BSc with 8+ years of experience)
Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, MSc, etc.) preferred

Professional Experience:

Experience developing strategic Scientific Communications and other scientific content preferred
Previous experience working in a Medical Affairs organization
Prior experience in Project Management, Business Operations

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $169,700.00 to $282,900.00. Verify data against source files, ensure accuracy and consistency of data and content within and between related documents

· Document finalization/publishing services

Produce final eCTD-compliant PDFs of medical regulatory documents using publishing software
Review and format Word files to ensure as many compliance requirements are in the source file as possible

· Document Management

Launch shells and manage document metadata

Essential Skills/Experience:

Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, or MD) or significant relevant work experience in the Pharmaceutical industry
Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical company or medical communications agency in scientific communications or similar role; background and experience in rare diseases is highly desirable.
Proven people leadership skills and an ability to lead and empower teams.
Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing scientific communications strategy and programs

Payments Investigations:

Lead and manage a team of 65+ Payment Professional in Canada, Singapore and India responsible for global investigations for incoming and outgoing SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 (MX) messages (e.g., MT103, MT202 COV, pacs.008).
Oversee resolution of exceptions, returns, NACKs, and claims (e.g., fraud, duplicate payments, recall requests) in compliance with SWIFT, AML, and bank policy.
Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement remediation for recurring payment issues or client-impacting errors.

Help Desk Operations:

Manage 24/6 support model for SWIFT-related inquiries from clients, internal desks, and FI correspondents.

Analyze Requests for Proposal (RFP), development of proposals, proposal reviews and coordination, negotiation, contractual agreements, contracts execution, and contract administration.
Work closely within cross-functional teams to construct, submit, and negotiate Terms and Conditions and pricing proposals.
Manage DCS contracts with foreign customers.
Effectively manage scope and terms and conditions to ensure work is performed to the overall contract.
Provide guidance regarding contractual and business issues, advising management of contractual rights and obligations as well as possible mitigation of contractual / program risks.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and internal partners.
Some travel required to customer locations (both domestic and international)

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience
Experience with one or more of the following: Contracts Administration/ management, Program/Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Financial/Estimating Management, and international DCS contracting

Qualifications We Prefer

Uses strong knowledge of DoD acquisition life cycle, acquisition policies and regulations under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with customers and internal partners based on understanding, teamwork, and trust.
Professional, effective written, and verbal communication skills to interface with all levels of internal and external customers; thorough analytical skills; excellent interpersonal skills; be adaptable to a variety of business situations.
Experience working in an exciting environment and ability to multi-task across multiple programs and demonstrated record of responsiveness with excellent time management and organization skills.
Juris Doctor, MBA, or NCMA Certification a plus.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

What You Will Do

Provide operational leadership and strategic direction to meet engine delivery commitments and ensure customer satisfaction. Lead the cultural transformation across the organization.
Drive operational excellence and be accountable for key performance metrics for: monthly engine delivery, profit margins, cost per hour (CPH), on-time delivery (OTD), cost of poor quality (COPQ), productivity and direct cost initiatives (DCI).
Plan and manage Gate 3 assembly schedules, resources and manpower to meet monthly engine deliverables.
Support and drive growth projects to ensure seamless introduction of new engine platform.
Work with the management team to plan, develop, implement, and oversee policy deployment plan actions aligned with the overall business plan objectives and targets.
Drive productivity and continuous improvement (CORE) initiatives to improve efficiency workplace.
Ensure full regulatory compliance culture in Global Trade, EHS, Ethics, Quality and more.
Lead cost-reduction initiatives to enhance profitability and business sustainability.
Foster a high-engagement culture built on respect, empowerment, communication, and collaboration.
Establish strong cross-functional communication with departments to align business goals and timelines.
Develop talent and succession plans for leadership continuity and team stability.
Work closely with the Transformation team to drive modernization through technology insertion.
Execute other strategic or ad-hoc projects assigned by leadership.

Qualifications You Must Have

Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering or equivalent discipline.
10 years of relevant broad-based experience in Aerospace Aftermarket MRO.
Solid understanding of all aspects of the business, including EH&S, people development, regulatory, quality, operational, technical, and financial requirements.
Proven leadership with strong motivation, people development, and decision-making skills.
Problem-solver who utilizes cross-functional team expertise to address operational challenges.
Excellent strategic & analytical thinking with strong execution capabilities.
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with matrix reporting structures.
Good communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders across all organizational levels.

Qualifications We Prefer

Familiarity with commercial engine platforms and engine centers operations and flow.
MBA or Master’s degree is preferred.
Strong data analysis and business intelligence skills with proficiency in tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel for performance monitoring and reporting.
Change management expertise particularly in leading teams through digital transformation, restructuring, or cultural change.
Digital manufacturing or Industry 4.0 knowledge including automation, IoT, and smart factory practices.
