The Research Assistant (RA) provides support to the Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs), Site Manager, Principal and Sub Investigators, and other site staff in compliance with GCP, ICH, HIPAA, FDA Regulations and SOPs. The RA performs clinical, lab, and administrative tasks as needed for the successful operation of the clinical research site.

Key Responsibilities

\nEssential Job Duties: In collaboration with other members of the clinical research site team, assists with the execution of assigned studies, and support functions as needed. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Under the direction of the Site Manager/Director and the Principal/Sub Investigators, assists the CRCs and other site staff in their responsibilities by conducting the following according to study protocol: \n
Ensures study related reports and patient results are reviewed by the Research Coordinator and/or investigator in a timely manner.
Assists the CRC and/or Manager with study recruitment, patient enrollment, and tracking as needed;
Maintains strict confidentiality of patients, employees, customers and company information at all times and adheres to HIPAA Guidelines; and
Perform all other duties as requested or assigned.
Assists with the basic screening of patients for study enrollment;
Assists with patient follow-up visits;
Documents in source clinic charts;
Enters data in EDC and answers queries;
Obtains vital signs and ECGs;
Perform blood draws;
Perform basic lab procedures per protocol, such as: blood specimen collection, centrifuge operation, storing and shipping of lab specimens, accountability of specimens and notification of courier for specimen pick-up;
Request and track medical record requests;
Enters data in EDC and answers queries;
Assists the CRC with updating and maintaining logs and filing in charts, and with chart filing; and
Schedules subjects for study visits, conducts appointment reminders, and reschedules visits if needed;

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

\nMinimum Qualifications: A High School diploma and 1 year of administrative / clinical experience is required. Phlebotomy experience is required. 1 year or more years of clinical research or clinical experience is preferred. Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) proficiency is a plus.
Required Skills:

Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft applications, email, electronic health records, web applications, and the ability to type proficiently (40+ wpm).
Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
Well-developed interpersonal and listening skills and the ability to work well independently as well as with co-workers, subjects, managers and external customers.
Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and adapt to changes in workloads and priorities.

Job Description

The role of the Research Assistant is to provide support, at various levels of independence, to the Research Coordinator and investigators. This position requires the ability to adhere to research protocol and work with the investigator and other team members to carry out various aspects of conducting a clinical trial.

The Research Assistant reports to the Manager, Research, with accountability to the Oncology leadership team.

This role is fully onsite.

Accountabilities:

Liaise with research collaborators, research team members, Research Ethics Board (REB) staff
Operate within an established research protocol and under specific instructions as to method and processes relevant to the research study
Complete applications for submission to the REB
Create/modify source documents, consents, information letters and other study related documents
Complete accurate data collection and case report completion in multiple EDC systems in a timely manner
Assist with screening, consenting and other study related activities
Assist in scheduling of study procedures as per study protocols in coordination with supporting programs
Perform well-defined, routine or repetitive tests, experiments, or other procedures
Assist in preparation of sample blood specimens and control documentation for shipment to external labs as per IATA regulations
Assist in other administrative and job-related duties as assigned by the research manager

Qualifications

Undergraduate certificate or Bachelor's degree in health science preferred
Completion of the ICH-Good Clinical Practice Certification
Previous experience in clinical research is an asset
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Dr. Roberts is a member of the Physics department at CU Denver and works to detect dark matter and to build tools that increase the trust in results from this discipline. This position focuses on monitoring the data quality quickly enough that shifters can intervene as issues arise. This job will requires you work with the SuperCDMS data quality monitoring software, processing software, data acquisition software, and multiple databases to deliver usable science data.

Professional Research Assistant
What you will do:
Approximately 20% of your time will be spent learning about the data quality system and related subsystems. This will involve:
Participating in remote team meetings with PI and graduate students where the focus is debugging code and/or the computing environment
Meeting weekly with the PI and sometimes graduate students and postdocs to learn about the MIDAS data acquisition system deployed for the experiment, the databases in use, the network underground at SNOLAB, the data quality system, the data catalog, and other systems that integrate with the data quality system.
Attending remote training sessions to learn how to take a remote shift running the CDMS detectors.

Approximately 50% of your time will be spent developing the data quality monitoring system. This will involve:

Individually debugging and implementing features in data quality codebase.
Individually learning and testing the data quality system on test installation.

The research assistant will perform research in quantum many-body physics under Prof. Thomas Iadecola. The topic of the research will be open quantum systems, with a focus on dynamics induced by decoherence or monitoring with or without postselection. Anticipated methods include exact diagonalization, density matrix renormalization group, and other computational techniques. The researcher will also have the opportunity to communicate research results in the form of papers or presentations as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

The position requires a B.A. or B.S. with no post-degree experience or equivalent specialized training and experience in a data entry or office setting.

The Research Assistant will support clinical research by managing data (including neuropsychological, physiological and neuroimaging measures), assisting with functional neuroimaging analysis, and working with investigators, staff and students as a member of an interdisciplinary team.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
•    Assist in the investigation of brain and behavior changes in Huntington’s Disease through imaging studies.
•    Organize and characterize multi-dimensional data using programming software, such as Python or MATLAB.
•    Run statistical analyses to evaluate behavior (cognitive tasks, behavior ratings and motor skills), genetics (gene expansion), and brain function (resting state functional connectivity, brain morphometry), and how they are related to brain structure and function.
•    Produce regular reports on data quality.
•    Investigate and implement means to ensure quality and validity of data collected at numerous sites across extended periods of time.
•    Track and enter data for NIH-funded studies and utilize statistical software to assist in the preparation of material for inclusion in reports, publications and presentations.
•    Review compliance with protocol, organize and maintain study records and files in conjunction with other research staff.
•    Coordinate data handling and management with private and academic institution
•    Participate actively and present work in lab meetings.
•    Establish and maintain standards of collaborative interaction among peers and employees that is characterized by respect, honesty and service.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
• Bachelors of Arts/Science degree in Psychology, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a biomedical related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with one of the following coding platforms

• Minimum of 1 year of behavioral and/or medical research experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

Animal Nutritional Physiology research group is seeking part-time assistance with dairy nutrition experiments at the Penn State Dairy farm. The position will primarily be responsible for collecting and weighing feed refusals, calculating amount of feed needed that day, and mixing and delivering feed to cows on nutrition experiments. Requires early morning hours (~530 to 830 AM) 3 to 4 days per week. Will also assist with collection of milk samples some mornings. Requires ability to lift 50 lbs with or without assistance. Previous experience with cows or other large animals preferred.

Position Summary:

Assist the research team in conducting research projects and, as required, provide functional supervision to Undergraduate/Graduate Research Assistants.
Conduct research projects using established protocols, processes, and procedures under the supervision of the Research Supervisor.
Examine the endocytosis of nanobeads and quantum dots into tissue culture cells.
Perform confocal microscopy to colocalize quantum dots and beads with GFP-tagged markers of the endocytic pathway and with markers for the actin cytoskeleton.

Conduct tissue culture and endocytosis experiments, including the preparation, maintenance, and manipulation of cell cultures.
Learn and apply microscopy techniques as needed to support research objectives.

Execute other research activities including experimental planning, data collection, test administration, conducting interviews, recruitment and training of interviewers (if applicable), laboratory work, compilation of data, and preparation of research documentation.

Professor Hannah Wiseman of Penn State Dickinson Law and the Center for Energy Law and Policy seeks an undergraduate or graduate level research assistant with knowledge of energy policy to help identify physical locations at which former industrial sites or other disturbed lands have been converted to renewable energy or nuclear energy facilities (“repurposed energy sites”).

The position will commence as soon as possible and will continue through October 2025. The research assistant will need to work during the summer of 2025. Summary:

The INSPIRE (Interdisciplinary Social and Public Health Intervention Research for Equity) lab is hiring a Research Assistant to support Dr. Petruzzi’s federally funded grant, ‘Improving Perinatal Mental Health among Latinas through a Culturally Adapted, Multi-Level Intervention”.

The research assistant will help with IRB application management, including amendments and modifications. The RA will also build and test surveys in Qualtrics, as well as create a qualitative interview guide. The RA will create slides for community advisory board (CAB) meetings, as well as take notes at CAB meetings and summarize overall themes and takeaways. The RA will receive training in quantitative and qualitative data collection.

Essential Functions:

The candidate will assist with literature reviews for peer-reviewed articles as well as writing peer-reviewed articles and reports. The candidate will assist with the preparation of results for presentation to the scientific community, including papers and reports, oral reports, poster presentations, and conference materials.
The RA will receive training in quantitative or qualitative data collection and analysis. This requires accurate handling of data and an understanding of how to communicate scientifically to a variety of audiences.
The RA will also build and test surveys in Qualtrics, as well as collect quantitative and/or qualitative data.
The candidate supports this project by completing administrative tasks such as maintaining and updating required documentation, such as data dictionaries. This also includes upholding high ethical standards such as confidentiality and the completion of CITI training.
The research assistant will assist with gathering and submitting Institutional Review Board (IRB) documentation (questionnaires, consent forms, flyers, etc.).

Qualifications:
Required:

Bachelor’s degree in a science related field.
Basic working knowledge of standard laboratory equipment and technology.
One or more years of professional laboratory experience.
Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Demonstrated success working under strict regulatory requirements and deadlines
Communicates effectively with supervisors, employees, and students in a professional and timely manner
Experience with problem solving and the adapting to changing circumstances and conditions.
Flexibility to work a schedule that may change due to weather, equipment challenges, or client needs.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Preferred:

One or more years of experience in laboratory analyses.
Familiarity with environmental analytical chemistry principles.
Ability to travel, normally requiring a driver’s license, and may include overnight trips to attend meetings or training programs.

About The Role

IRB Barcelona is seeking a motivated scientist to join the Inflammation, Tissue Plasticity & Cancer Research Group as a Research Assistant.

The Inflammation, Tissue Plasticity & Cancer Research Group aims to understand how oncogenic mutations and inflammatory cues shape normal cellular identity and tissue homeostasis to initiate and sustain cancer. To do so, we combine functional genomics tools (CRISPR/Cas9; RNAi), mouse models and organoid/cell culture systems, and (epi)genomic methods including single-cell and spatial technologies.

The successful candidate will perform molecular/cellular biology techniques (eg. cloning, DNA/RNA/protein extractions, cell culture, genotyping) and in vivo work (eg. preclinical animal models, rodent survival surgeries, tissue/PBMC processing) to support research investigating cellular, tissue, and organismal-level determinants of epithelial carcinogenesis; and will assist in setting up and maintaining the lab’s organizational and experimental pipelines.

This position is cofinanced by the project “Unmasking Non-Genetic Determinants Instructing Tumor Initiation del European Research Council (ERC)” (Acronim: IGNITE. Grant Agreement: 101171929).

Key Responsibilities

The research technician will lead experimental and organizational activities under minimal supervision.
Research activities may include (but are not limited to) DNA/RNA extraction, plasmid cloning, qRT-PCR, ELISA/immunoblotting, mouse handling, minor surgeries (pancreas, liver), iv/ip injections, tissue/blood processing, cell line/organoid culture, and genetic manipulation and tracing (CRISPR/RNAi, barcoding), flow cytometry and histology, preparation of lab reagents, and performing basic statistical data analysis and literature search to contribute with new ideas on topics related to the lab’s research mission.
Operational activities may include (but are not limited to) organizing data and sample repositories, assisting team members in planning or execution of experiments; and contributing to an enriching, positive and inclusive lab environment.

Master’s degree in Biomedicine or equivalent experience.
Experience of three years in a laboratory setting.
Knowledge of laboratory techniques and safety protocols.
