Summary

This role will provide subject matter expertise and strong execution skills to the Internal Audit, Financial Risk and Modeling Audit Team, executing multiple concurrent projects such as model risk assessments, model validation monitoring, and detailed model testing supporting internal audits and validations.

The Principal will:

- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the IA team in executing their responsibilities.

- Maintain the Internal Audit quality standards across all deliverables and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that financial and operational risks are effectively identified, assessed, and managed.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will be aligned, but not limited, to four pillars:

Department Oversight

Support and maintain IA infrastructure (Policies, Procedures, Standards, Guidance, Audit Universe, Risk Assessments, Co-Sourcing Management, Service Quality, Regulatory Management and Stakeholder Management) in alignment with Regulators, IIA Standards and OCC's designation requirements.
Contribute to the development of annual budget recommendations supporting the risk-based audit plan.
Coordinate with the Operations team and Co-Source relationship to manage staffing needs for plan execution.

Leadership

Support the design and implementation of strategic initiatives related to audit programs/processes, technology, or other initiatives related to assurance and consultative services for Financial and Model Risk.
Plan, execute, and report on risk-based and special request audit assignments.
Identify regulatory, operational, and/or strategic risks to the organization and develop recommendations for improvements.
Build and maintain effective relationships with business groups and management.

Delivery

Contribute to the development of risk assessment and comprehensive audit plan.
Manage multiple audits and validations simultaneously.
Execute audit projects in accordance with the annual audit plan.
Confirm audit quality, accuracy of results, and timely delivery.

Quality

Apply professional principles and standards (e.g., AICPA, IIA GIA, COSO, SR 11-7) in risk management activities and control evaluations.
Maintain knowledge of policies, procedures, standards, and supporting technologies in risk identification and mitigation.
Stay informed of industry practices, model methodologies, and emerging risks within financial services and propose improvement recommendations.
Participate in department-wide activities such as peer reviews of audit deliverables.

Technical Skills

[Preferred] Seasoned expertise on understanding and managing financial risks related to financial derivatives portfolios, particularly options on equities.
[Preferred] Experience in evaluating the pricing of complex derivatives and performing advanced statistical analysis on underlying risk factors.
[Preferred] Experience with reviewing and auditing risk management models for derivatives using methodologies such as Historical VaR, Monte Carlo simulation, TIMS and SPAN.
[Preferred] Proficiency in quantitative or statistical tools (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, SAS) to support model audit and testing procedures.
[Preferred] Familiarity with model risk management practices including validation, backtesting, and performance monitoring.

Education and/or Experience

Compensation

The salary range listed for any given position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at OCC, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and/or education.

About the Role

Roles and Responsibilities:

Support planning and execution of the data analytics and continuous auditing strategy, in collaboration with Group and BU architecture team, application teams and data analytics platform team.
Support initiatives to automate audit testing and continuous monitoring using AI and machine learning solutions that are highly usable, scalable, secure, and able to be utilized in high volume distributed data.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Audit Consultant with extensive experience in SOX compliance, business process controls, IT automated controls (ITACs), and SAP S/4HANA risk and controls. This role involves leading and executing SOX audits, performing SAP business control review, ITAC reviews, Key report testing, and providing recommendations to strengthen governance and compliance frameworks.

Your Job:

SOX & Internal Controls

• Lead and execute SOX 404 and ICFR audits in line with PCAOB/AICPA guidance.
• Perform design and operating effectiveness testing for business process controls, and ITACs.
• Conduct process walkthroughs, prepare process narratives, flowcharts, and risk & control matrices.
• Identify control gaps, assess risks, and recommend improvements.
• Document high-quality working papers and ensure adherence to defined audit standards.

SAP Risk & Controls

• Lead SAP risk and controls assessments across ECC and S/4HANA environments.
• Design, review, and test SAP S/4HANA controls and identify control gaps.
• Conduct SAP pre- and post-implementation reviews to evaluate system integrity and mitigate risks.
• Test cross functional segregation of duties (SOD)
• Utilize SAP GRC, Ariba, SuccessFactors, Concur, and other integrated applications for risk and control evaluations.

Business Process & IT Controls

• Evaluate controls across key processes: Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), Record-to-Report (R2R), Payroll, Fixed Assets, Inventory, and Master Data Management (MDM).
• Test automated and configurable controls within SAP and other ERP systems.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to integrate risk considerations into process designs.

Engagement & Project Management

• Manage multiple client engagements and deliver high-quality results within timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

Execute audit programs within defined project timelines, handling high complexity, risk, and subjective judgment. Work independently with periodic review and follow-up.
Participate in audit planning for assigned operational audits or advisory projects. Conduct process interviews and walkthroughs, document key attributes, and strive to become a subject matter expert in scope areas. Refine standards and support junior auditors during planning.

Internal Audit Manager - Internal Audit & Compliance

As an Internal Audit Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of our operations. You will lead a team of auditors, conduct comprehensive audits, and provide strategic recommendations to enhance our processes. Under the direct supervision of the Audit Director, with wide latitude for the use of independent judgment and initiative, you'll function as the key leader responsible for developing the scope and audit procedures for key areas of focus to assess financial, operational, compliance, and strategic risk. In addition, you will identify and initiate departmental priorities in conjunction with Audit Leadership. As needed, support the coordination of potential audit compliance activities required by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO), the Office of the Auditor General of Ontario, and other external audit functions, and assesses compliance with other regulatory bodies.

Demonstrated years of progressive experience conducting internal audits, including demonstrated years of experience directly managing audit staff, or a comparable combination of progressive experience in internal and external audit (while obtaining relevant professional designation(s)).
Demonstrated years’ audit experience in the area of major capital project assurance and/or progressive contracting models, preferably within asset-intensive industries such as public transit infrastructure, or commercial, industrial or institutional buildings, and/or the municipal/public infrastructure sector is highly desired.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and/or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and/or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) is an asset.
Must become a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Continuing Education in auditing, project management, technology and / or construction is required.

Create an Internal Audit Plan based on Risk Based Audit
Ensure that all processes carried out by the inspected work unit are in accordance with OJK regulations
Conduct fraud prevention and control through Anti Fraud Awareness Socialization among Amar Bank's employees.

What You Bring

Audit Engagement

Participate in development of Internal Audit Three-Year Plan

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit, this role will help execute the company’s Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulatory requirements, assist with certain IA operational audits, provide guidance to the process owners, and promote collaboration among the internal audit team, external auditors, and management.

Responsibilities:

Contribute to the annual risk assessment, scoping analysis, and audit plan development.
Plan, document and conduct complex audit assignments and projects, mainly SOX testing, and manage multiple projects concurrently. Take the initiative and audit the company’s financial statements and records, verifying accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Manage budget and deadlines for SOX program and coordinate efforts of third-party testers supporting the SOX program.
Use Workiva to manage SOX testing, request PBCs and quarterly SOX certifications.
Communicate with a variety of stakeholders across the company. 
Develop knowledge of company policies, procedures, and internal control concepts and identify best practices to ensure compliance against relevant policies and procedures.
Actively participate in Internal Audits by helping create Audit Programs and execute audits per defined timelines.
Draft and present reports of findings and analysis to management and making recommendations to mitigate risk and add value.
Meet timely targets for assigned projects and provide frequent status updates to the team. 
Work proactively with the external auditors and the process/control owners to make the SOX compliance process more efficient and effective.
Continuously acquire professional knowledge and skills to adapt to the changes in government regulations, industry trends, company policies, and business practices.

Requirements:

Exhibit a good understanding of GAAP, SOX, and COSO concepts. 
Demonstrate adequate working knowledge of business cycles and internal control analyses and risk assessment methodologies.
Experience testing SOX controls as an auditor or Analyst for a public accounting firm (preferred) or within the industry.
Must be effective at communicating issues through written reports, verbal discussions, and presentations.
Ability to prepare written reports of completed audits, as well as providing impact analysis, and developing corrective action plans.
Minimum four years of experience working on Financial SOX audit and related operational audit.
Bachelor’s degree required. BA/BS degree in accounting, finance, or the equivalent in education is preferred.
Chartered Accountant (CA)/Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation in current/active status.
Ability to work on a flexible schedule and willingness to accommodate US working hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
Knowledge or working familiarity with SOX tools such as AuditBoard/Workiva and strong Excel skills
Solid understanding of IT systems and concepts including familiarity with SOC reports, IT Key Reports and IT Automated controls and their impact on business processes.
Data analytics and AI driven analysis are skills not required but desirable and a definite plus.

As Internal Audit Lead you are responsible for leading the global Internal Audit function. You’ll build and execute the annual audit plan, oversee the team and co-sourced partners, and ensure strong alignment with regulatory expectations. Audit Leadership & Execution

Lead the development and execution of Kraken’s global Internal Audit strategy, methodology, and multi-year audit plan, ensuring alignment with business objectives and emerging risks.

Ensure Internal Audit practices meet Irish regulatory requirements (e.g., CBI PCF functions), and global regulatory expectations across jurisdictions.
Partner with Enterprise Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, and Finance to ensure coordinated assurance coverage, reduce redundancy, and align on key risk themes.
Participate in risk forums and cross-functional governance bodies to bring risk insights and audit perspectives into strategic decision-making.

People, Planning & Program Management

Manage and mentor internal audit staff, providing guidance, performance feedback, and career development support.
Develop and execute audit team training programs to ensure technical competency, regulatory awareness, and familiarity with emerging technologies.
Track and report on key audit metrics, including team utilization, audit plan progress, budget adherence, and remediation follow-up.
Foster strong, collaborative relationships with key business partners in Finance, Product, Technology, and Operations to support control awareness and issue resolution.

Skills you should HODL

10+ years of experience in internal audit, risk, consulting, or compliance
Experience in a regulated financial services environment or fintech

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Possess strong data analytics skills and knowledge of advanced data analytical tools will be an advantage.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills (presentation skills)

· Basic understanding of IT systems, Knowledge of MS office (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc)

· Have the ability to work under pressure – stringent deadlines and tough client conditions which may demand extended working hours.

Job Description:

14 month contract opportunity

Our team members are important to us, and we understand that each person’s needs and circumstances are unique. This is a Hybrid opportunity in our Waterloo or Toronto offices, where you will come into the office one or two days a week, to connect in person, as a team and with our clients. Daily work hours also provide some flexibility for start and finish times as well as occasional accommodations that allow for other commitments that are important for you that may take you away from work during core business hours. In addition, Internal audit fully participates in, and supports, Sun Life’s quinquennial sabbatical program where, starting with your 5th work anniversary and repeating every five years after, you can take a 3-6 weeks sabbatical that includes an additional paid week off.

In this role, you will report to the Director, Internal Audit, and play a key role in the management and day-to-day execution of audit activities within the Canada business. You will have an opportunity to learn about Canada’s asset management, group retirement, and insurance businesses, as well as informal people leadership and participation in Audit Methodology discussions.

This role is focused on overseeing and executing audits by assessing risks, evaluating internal controls, making recommendations regarding control deficiencies, and identifying areas of opportunity for improvement. Through audit work, you will have the opportunity to develop competencies around leading discussions with senior management, influencing various levels of management, project management, and building client relationships across the organization.

What will you do?

Manage and execute multiple complex audit engagements, in accordance with department methodology and Institute of Internal Audit (IIA) standards, within resource budgets and target dates
Monitor the progress of audit projects and provide appropriate leadership in completing the project according to department objectives
Support the documentation of business understanding, business objectives /performance/metrics, key controls, and test strategy to ensure that audit objectives and approach meet broader business needs
Lead meetings with clients to drive the audit process, presenting audit findings and recommendations; conduct audit opening and closing meetings with client
Support the assessment of key control design and execute testing of key controls and identify gaps
Prepare and review internal audit reports of findings and recommendations for delivery to management
Monitor audit findings to ensure effective resolution
Actively build and manage relationships with business partners and corporate contacts
Identify opportunities to automate testing using Data Analytics and toolsets deployed internally (CAAT and analytical tools) or through the assessment of other monitoring/analytic tools available
Monitor key projects and strategic initiatives
Assist business unit management by providing risk management consulting support, education and training
Stay up-to-date on current best practices in risk management and control assessment; acquiring and sharing information related to industry thought leadership and best practices

What do you need to succeed?

4 to 6 years of audit, risk management or equivalent business or advisory/consulting experience in the financial services industry
Proven ability to manage multiple projects
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate, influence and network effectively
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and ability to understand complex business processes, their risks and identify key controls
Sound business judgment in assessing significance of issues and developing value added recommendations
Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to effectively communicate ideas and recommendations, and to listen and consider ideas of others.
Ability to operate in an environment experiencing rapid change
Knowledge of control frameworks (e.g. COSO, COBIT, etc.)
Knowledge of audit techniques, including planning, scoping, project management, evaluation and testing of internal controls
Knowledge of Risk Management and Operational Risk frameworks
Knowledge of or exposure to IFRS and Compliance (Anti-Money Laundering, Privacy, Market Conduct, ABAC) would be an advantage
Knowledge of or exposure to IT Risk and IT General Controls would be an advantage

Preferred Skills:

Recognized professional audit designation (e.g. CPA, CIA, CRMA, CISA) will be an asset
Excellent written and communication skills, with ability to influence and lead meetings
Knowledge and application of IT processes, risk and controls (ITGC, Automated Controls, Report Testing)
Professional IT Applications Audit experience (in the financial services preferred)
Pro-active, dedicated, flexible, demonstrating good practical judgement and taking initiative
Team player, ability to multi-task, detail oriented, strong commitment to quality, analytical, strong problem solving and consultative skills
Knowledge of the data analysis tools will be an asset
