Job Summary - Essential Functions/Duties

Working under moderate supervision of the work unit Lead, the incumbent must have a general knowledge of maintenance trades (i.e. electrical, mechanical/HVAC, structural, carpentry and/or plumbing assemblies) with high-level skills and knowledge of Mechanical/HVAC, to effect repairs of facilities, machinery, mechanical equipment and other related subsystems. Work is performed in accordance with pertinent guides and regulations of the trade.

General Mechanical Work:

Examine mechanical equipment to diagnose the source of trouble or malfunction.
Dismantle or partly dismantle subsystems and effects repairs primarily using hand tools.
Replace defective parts with items obtained from existing stock.
Prepare written specifications for major repairs.
Reassemble machines and make all necessary adjustments for operation.

Hvac Work:

Install, service and repair environmental-control systems utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout.
Mount compressor and condenser units on platform or floor according to blueprints or engineering specifications.
Fabricate, assemble and install ductwork and chassis parts using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment.
Install evaporator units in chassis or in air-duct systems.
Cut, bend and/or thread tubing or pipe by using appropriate equipment.
Join tubing or pipes to various refrigerating units by use of sleeves, couplings or unions and solder to form a complete circuit for refrigerant.
Install expansion and discharge valves in circuit.
Connects motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls and circulating ventilation fans to control panels then to power source.
Install air and water filters in completed installation.
Observe pressure and vacuum gauges and adjusts controls to insure proper operation.
Test joints and connections for gas leaks using gauges or soap and water solution.
Wrap pipes in insulation batting and secures them in place with cement or wire bands.
Replace defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses and electrical wiring to repair installed units using electrician hand tools and test equipment.

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

\nHigh school diploma or equivalent and completed training as part of a formal apprenticeship program. Incumbent with HVAC as a base trade, must have a Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification upon hire. Incumbent must have demonstrated proficiency in one or more building trades disciplines (Mechanical/HVAC/Electrical) during two (2) years of directly related work experience. The incumbent must possess or acquire a working knowledge of the technical terminology and language structure related to a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment/systems supported by the work unit. The incumbent must have basic personal computer skills and knowledge of applications software and database usage sufficient to maintain records and files. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Position may require travel. The incumbent must possess a valid, state issued driver's license. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.\n\n

Salary

\nThe expected salary for this position is $64,833 to $68,640 annually.\n

Position Summary:

Installs and repairs wallpaper throughout the property

Perform basic carpentry techniques necessary to maintain furniture and fixture such as tightening, gluing, touching-up finishes, adjusting, aligning, and assembling where necessary
Diagnose defective machines and equipment. Install new or repaired parts, following specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand tools
Maintain equipment and logbooks
Replace filters throughout properties as needed
Possess extensive knowledge of repair and preventative maintenance of facilities equipment including kitchen equipment, gas, and steam, electrical and plumbing
Move and reset furniture around for repairs

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety and functionality of Head Start Division facilities and/or family child care homes. The Maintenance Worker provides maintenance services as needed and/or; assisting in a wide variety of maintenance activities; addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns; assisting skilled trades; and ensuring that tools, material and vehicles are maintained in good working order and are available at job site when needed. Essential Duties And Responsibilites:

Keep center facilities and equipment clean and sanitized in accordance with programmatic, local, state and federal regulations.
Handle work order repairs, as needed. Must be able respond to emergency service calls with urgency. Use the work order software system via cellular phone in accessing work orders. All work orders must be updated as work orders are opened and completed.
Must perform building services and repairs in compliance with all safety and environmental standards. Employee is required to use proper personal protective equipment or back support provided by the Pacific Clinics whenever performing the job that requires PPE or lifting heavy objects.
Maintain the company vehicle clean and neat. Keep safety in mind while using the company vehicle. Report any work injury or vehicular accident to the Supervisor. Incident Report must be completed and submitted immediately after an accident and/or incident occur.
Provides routine maintenance such as replacing light bulbs, minor plumbing repairs, lock replacements and other minor general repairs at center level or family child care homes, and assembling furniture, and maintaining equipment used in the course of work.
Restocks supply closets, hand washing supplies, cleaning and sanitation supplies at the site. Document and inform supervisor in a timely manner when cleaning supplies and janitorial/maintenance supplies need to be ordered.
Assure that cleaning supplies and other toxic products are stored appropriately and not accessible to children.
Document and inform Facilities/Safety Rep. of any interior and exterior safety or health concerns.
Performs daily health and safety site inspections. Suggest improvements to provide safer environment for children and staff and assist with minor repairs.
Performs outdoor tasks such maintaining of playground areas, parking lot, mowing lawns, trimming shrubs and trees.
Ensure emergency exits are accessible and lighting is in safe, working condition and assist with the center’s emergency plan i.e. gas and water shut off.
Move office furniture, fixtures and equipment within and between sites to support staffing changes, relocations, remodels and program expansion
Complete required record keeping, including checklist of daily cleaning and special events cleaning.
Maintains cooperative relationships with fellow employees, building staff, landlords, supervisor, administrators, students, and the general public.
Becomes familiar with Pacific Clinics Head Start/Early Head Start children, families and staff in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Takes precautions to protect own health and safety as well as the health and safety of clients and staff and to protect equipment and facilities.

TDC is a residential facility located in Northwest Ohio. We support youth aged 10-17 and adults with developmental disabilities. Job Description

What you will do as a Maintenance Repair Worker 2:

The Maintenance Department plays a key role in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for our residents and staff. We have an 80- acre main campus consisting of 6 residential buildings, various support buildings and outdoor spaces. Example duties include:

Carpentry
Minor electrical
Minor plumbing
Grounds keeping (i.e. mowing, landscape maintenance, snow removal)
Concrete work
Painting
Delivery

This position will be on weekend rotations. Working 9:00am - 5:30pm with a 1/2 hour unpaid meal break.

Qualifications

Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in maintenance repair work (e.g., basic electricity, plumbing, carpentry, masonry repair & use of associated hand & power tools & equipment); in accordance with section 124.11 (B) (2) of revised code, Director Of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class & therefore exempt from written examination.

This position will be responsible for working on and around aircraft such as; Bell V22 Osprey. You will be responsible for structural or mechanical assembled parts on aircraft, while keeping proficient records of the aircraft completion status daily.

Drilling close tolerance holes using a variety of hand drills/power feed drills.
Multiple types of fastener installations in composite and sheet metal.
Installs, fits, and adjusts parts or assemblies where difficult installations, alignments or adjustments are necessary while conforming to technical directives/specifications.
Required to work from blueprints or project sketches and templates with or without the use of tooling jigs or fixtures.
Experienced Techs should be able to perform a majority of the assembly operations on all parts of the aircraft as well as fixture and bench assembly operations.
May require some composite and fiberglass bond layup or repair.
Can make necessary layouts to fabricate and fit component parts per engineering requirements.

Perform first-order tolerance analyses

Conduct design reviews and provide technical support throughout the product design.
Support testing and validation of designs, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a Bachelor in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 6+ years of experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience
Experience in mechanical design and 3D modeling using CAD tools (i.e. CREO)

The Facilities & Logistics Division (F&L) is responsible for providing both direct and indirect maintenance and repair services to City owned and operated facilities using in-house skilled trade-workers, maintenance contracts and purchasing operation. F&L contract portfolio oversees approximately $200+ million dollars assigned to building maintenance. The goal of this unit is to ensure funds are being spent on preventive and general maintenance to avoid premature failure of building systems.

About This Role

Responsible for performing a variety of routine maintenance tasks including general mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs. Transports and stocks materials and equipment in designated storage areas. Troubleshoots and manages time to complete assigned work orders. Assists with set up of campus events or internal building and office relocations to include moving furniture and equipment.

What a day of a Maintenance Worker looks like:

This is a second shift position from noon to 8pm.
Assists in repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment for campus or college.
Replaces defective or obsolete electric light bulbs, fuses, lamps, and fixtures.
Cleans clogged drains and toilets and assist in performing other plumbing repairs.
Changes filter in air conditioners; performs plumbing and electrical repairs on heating and air conditioning or other mechanical system, as required.
Moves or assists in the moving of furniture and equipment as required and provide set-ups for various spaces throughout campus.
Maintains and repairs physical structure of building and maintain grounds of campus or college. Pressure cleans college buildings and walkways.
Performs preventive maintenance on college vehicles such as checking battery and radiator fluid levels restoring water or other fluid when necessary.
Routinely operates vehicles including moving van and bucket truck in performing job duties. Transports materials and equipment to, from and within storage areas and operating areas.
Follows established safety practices. Maintains and performs in a safe workplace.
Performs general clean up or grounds keeping duties according to the needs of the department. Hauls collected debris to onsite refuse collection location. Keeps department and campus facilities in clean, litter-free and in an orderly condition.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

We are searching for a Part-Time Facilities Maintenance Worker/Facilities Escort to join our Project Delivery Division in Engineering Services at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State to support capital facilities improvements by acting as a facilities, security, and safety liaison between contractors and ARL.

You Will:

Escort outside contractors and Technical Service employees from other work units that are performing work at ARL that is Technical Service in nature
Serve as a work site liaison with ARL Security to ensure visitor logs and all necessary security paperwork are kept current and reflect maintenance, renovation, or services being performed to buildings, infrastructure, grounds, and/or equipment
Verify all outside contractors working at ARL are United States citizens and have no electronic and digital devices, per ARL security guidelines
Conduct continuous observations for security and safety concerns, facility damage, etc.; report abnormal behaviors or other unusual observances; document information as directed
Respond to questions and provide general information; correspond with appropriate ARL Facilities contact for resolution of questions, concerns, and other facility or operational issues
Maintain knowledge of ARL Security practices and procedures
Assist higher graded technical-service employees by performing basic labor tasks such as providing “helping hands” (i.e., team lift, handing/holding tools and parts, helping set-up equipment, and general cleaning of work area)
Operate University vehicles as required

Required Skills/Experience Areas Include:

Success in an environment where communication skills were crucial to be effective
You may need to travel to ARL satellite locations periodically; a valid PA Driver’s License and ability to operate a motor vehicle will be required

Job Responsibilities:

Maintenance Workers are responsible for performing repairs and maintenance of structures, electrical systems, plumbing, washers and dryers, heating and ventilation and air conditioning systems in compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, Management & Training Corporation (MTC), and Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) directives.

Essential Functions:

Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, outlets and fuses as directed.
Perform minor construction and repair or structural woodwork.
Install window shades or coverings, security locks, etc.
Perform repair or replacement of plumbing fixtures, washers, seals, etc.
Help prepare surface for finishing, including painting, as directed.
Direct inmates assigned to facility maintenance.
Perform preventive maintenance checks of buildings as equipment.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education And Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent, technical training and general knowledge of repair and maintenance plus three (3) years related experience experience required. Valid driver’s license in the state of Mississippi or Louisiana with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Post Hire Requirements:

Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.

Carpentry & Appliance Work

Repair or replace cabinets, doors, locks, and drywall.

General Maintenance & Facility Support

Use technology to manage and complete digital work orders.
Mount TVs, grab bars, and other fixtures with precision.
Assist with basic tech setups (e.g., connecting smart devices to Wi-Fi).
Prepare units for new residents with inspections, minor repairs, and coordination.
Keep tools and parts inventory organized and stocked.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

Solid experience in general maintenance, especially plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Experience in healthcare or residential facilities is highly preferred.
Physically able to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications a plus.

Basic Function

Supervise and perform College grounds work, coordinate and perform related tasks, such as assisting with basic construction and repair tasks, deliveries, furniture moving and set-ups, operate specialized heavy equipment, supervise grounds crews and coordinate and perform other specialized tasks, such as off-season overhaul, repair and rebuilding of tools and equipment.

Characteristic Duties & Responsibilities

Supervise and assign daily tasks as needed or directed by the Physical Plant Director or his/her representative.
Develop and monitor seasonal schedule of grounds' maintenance based on experience and knowledge; implement the care of the grounds, communicating progress and planning with the Director to meet the needs of the College.
Train new employees, issue work assignments, monitor work in progress, check completed work; assist with difficult or unusual tasks; bring personnel problems to attention of supervisor.
Implement emergency snow removal procedures; plan storm team assignment, including scheduling and contacting personnel, advise Director of campus condition via Public Safety.
Oversee staff doing set-ups as scheduled; assist in set-ups; participate in coordination of staffing to meet changing departmental workload.
Assist with basic construction tasks related to grounds maintenance (ditch digging, cement work, laying tar and asphalt, fence installation, etc.).
Carry out other special work order (deliveries, pick-ups, facility set ups/tear downs for special events and the like).
Perform a variety of routine, semi-skilled building maintenance and repair tasks, such as interior and exterior painting, rough carpentry, window replacement, preventive maintenance on heating fixtures, routine plumbing and electrical repairs and the like.
Operate heavy equipment used performing various types of grounds and construction work.
Perform specialized tasks such as the off-season overhaul, repair and rebuilding of tools and equipment; clean up work areas, tools and equipment; secure necessary supplies for assigned jobs.
Perform related tasks as assigned.

Supervision Received

Moderate supervision is received from the Physical Plant Director or other senior staff member.

Supervision Excercised

Functional supervision of 3-5 to maintenance workers.

Minimum Qualifications

High school education desirable, plus five to seven years of relevant experience/training, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.

Excellent knowledge and skills related to institutional grounds maintenance.
Strong trades skills and mechanical abilities, some construction experience desirable.
Experience operating heavy equipment may be required for the position.
Some supervisory experience.
Skills in equipment repair and maintenance may be required for the position.

Compensation: The budgeted compensation for this position is $15.33 per hour.
