MacKillop Family Services is seeking an experienced Residential House Supervisor to join our Out of Home Care program (OOHC).

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Relevant Bachelor Degree with experience including four (4) additional mandatory competencies (Residential Care Skill Set); or Relevant Diploma with substantial experience including four (4) additional mandatory competencies (Residential Care Skill Set).
Substantial leadership experience within Residential Care, specifically Out of Home Care (OOHC) for children and young people.
Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead and support a team of Residential Care Workers.
Proven ability to relate to and work with children and young people who may experience social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Ability to participate collaboratively and constructively within teams of peers, staff and other stakeholders, as well as initiative and effective personal judgement when working alone.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the residential care field, particularly within a therapeutic environment.

The Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking an exceptional Licensed Practical Nurse for this full-time position at the Southeast Area On Grounds Program to work as a shift supervisor and direct service provider in a residential setting while maintaining a person centered, trauma informed atmosphere and professional performance. This position requires transportation of clients to appointments and other community activities.

Please Note: The position is 40 hours per week. The selected candidate will work on First Shift (6:45am-3:15pm). The days off are Friday and Saturday.

Employees in this position will be required to perform mandatory overtime.

Duties and Responsibilities (These duties and responsibilities are not all inclusive):

Ensure care and rehabilitation is provided as prescribed by the Community Service Plans (CSP). Ensure safe staffing is in place and coordinate with the Administrator on Call (AOC), when necessary. Communicate client and program information amongst houses and staff to ensure a safe working environment.
Coordinates medication services which include following through with physician orders, prescriptions, filling out Residential Information Sheets and checking to ensure that each coincides, ensuring that medications are sufficient to last until the next appointment, writing self-medication check off sheets, and posting medication changes to ensure clients receive the appropriate medication regimen.
Monitors, reports and records client’s response to current medication and treatment regimens and reports findings to the supervisor for follow up with appropriate medical practitioner.
Educates clients and staff about medications and their effects by utilizing in-service trainings, their own professional knowledge and resources located at the program to ensure that they have a basic knowledge and understanding of such.
Administers medications and treatment orders as prescribed by an appropriate medical practitioner.
Accompanies clients and ensures that clients receive emergency care, as needed.
Maintains and monitors a medication closet, first aid and infection control supplies to ensure that everything is labeled, kept in order, and that adequate supplies are on hand, and have not expired.

Required Qualifications:

Possession of a current and valid license as a practical nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Driver's License or equivalent required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a Community Mental Health Setting.
Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency.

Summary

The Residential Chef is responsible for food preparation and service in the residential dining hall. This position will be responsible for overseeing the culinary staff in the residential dining hall, scheduling staff, creating menus, and ensuring culinary standards are maintained. The Sous Chef must be committed to student employment and professional development opportunities for students.

Essential Functions

Ensure timely preparation, service, and quality of all food using well planned, sustainable, and cost-effective inclusive of dietary preferences.
Supervise and direct all university staff and student staff responsible for the culinary operations in the Residential Dining hall.
Work with the Residential Dining Manager on special events with unique and themed menus.
Utilize student feedback to ensure residential offerings are well received, varied, and favored.
Utilizing the DHS student development staffing model, train and supervise a student employment program that provides growth and development opportunities for student staff.
Utilize service excellence to ensure all student residents receive transparent communication, service, and quality food.
Assist in developing and implementation of high-quality training programs to ensure excellent product quality, consistent applications of standards, and standard operating procedures, policies, and standardized menus for the Residential Dining Hall.

Education:

Summary

Essential Functions

Ensure timely preparation, service, and quality of all food using well planned, sustainable, and cost-effective inclusive of dietary preferences.
Supervise and direct all university staff and student staff responsible for the culinary operations in the Residential Dining hall.
Work with the Residential Dining Manager on special events with unique and themed menus.
Utilize student feedback to ensure residential offerings are well received, varied, and favored.
Utilizing the DHS student development staffing model, train and supervise a student employment program that provides growth and development opportunities for student staff.
Utilize service excellence to ensure all student residents receive transparent communication, service, and quality food.
Assist in developing and implementation of high-quality training programs to ensure excellent product quality, consistent applications of standards, and standard operating procedures, policies, and standardized menus for the Residential Dining Hall.
Assist in developing and implementation of sustainability efforts to include sustainable food purchasing, compost, recycling, and the reduction of waste in conjunction with the Sustainability Office and UCCS Farm.
Assist with special dietary needs of students in conjunction with the Director of Dining.
Assist in maintenance of appropriate inventory levels while managing the ordering, receiving and inventory of all goods.
Monitor and control food and labor costs and track waste reduction efforts.
Make budget recommendations for the Residential Halls to the Director of Dining.
Make recommendations for long- and short-term facility and equipment needs, utilizing customer and industry trends and staff input.
Represent the department through university or community committees as needed
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Oversee all day-to-day culinary operations in the residential dining hall.
Lead and train Sous Chefs and Cooks on proper culinary technique, leadership, and kitchen etiquette.

Education:

Monitors, reports and records client’s response to current medication and treatment regimens and reports findings to the supervisor for follow up with appropriate medical practitioner.
Educates clients and staff about medications and their effects by utilizing in-service trainings, their own professional knowledge and resources located at the program to ensure that they have a basic knowledge and understanding of such.
Administers medications and treatment orders as prescribed by an appropriate medical practitioner.
Accompanies clients and ensures that clients receive emergency care, as needed.
Maintains and monitors a medication closet, first aid and infection control supplies to ensure that everything is labeled, kept in order, and that adequate supplies are on hand, and have not expired.

Required Qualifications:

Possession of a current and valid license as a practical nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Driver's License or equivalent required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a Community Mental Health Setting.
Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency.

How You Will Contribute:

Lead and direct mechanics and electricians through a Daily Management System (DMS).
Manage the hiring process for mechanics and electricians in partnership with other supervisors and union stewards.
Ensure a robust 90-day plan, training, and reviews for new hires to ensure a proper onboarding process.
Develop all direct reports through regular training and coaching.
Publish and post weekly and weekend schedules, including regular and overtime hours.
Ensure daily timecard management for accurate payroll processing.
Schedule vacations accordingly, ensuring minimal disruption to production lines.
Serve as a subject matter expert for selected topics and facilitate maintenance-related training.
Ensure compliance with the collective bargaining agreement in decision-making.
Engage direct reports in 5S and GMP, ensuring ownership for the maintenance storeroom, maintenance shop, shop equipment, toolboxes, carts, and cages.
Maintain critical quality processes and instrumentation (metal detectors/decade box).
Coach direct reports in DMS Level 1, with the participation of mechanics, electricians, and operators.
Lead DMS Level 2 with the participation of all direct reports, following the PDCA board for planning work for the next 24 hours.
Participate in DMS Level 3, updating the Maintenance Leadership Team with current line performance, priorities, and escalations needed.
Utilize CMMS (SAP) for accurately managing all maintenance-related processes.
Schedule and track work orders for preventive and corrective maintenance daily.
Review and manage the backlog for the section, working on its reduction throughout the year.
Own planned corrective maintenance through abnormality tags, creating work orders and assigning them to direct reports.
Provide emergency response to breakdowns, coordinating with vendors and the tool crib to procure parts for the section.
Ensure a flawless breakdown eradication process according to defined triggers, leading Root Cause Analysis with the participation of mechanics and electricians involved in the breakdown resolution.
Oversee the work permitting process for hot work, confined space entry, work from heights, and general permits.
Collaborate with planners to effectively plan, execute, and improve maintenance plans.
Collaborate with the tool crib to ensure proper parts and spare parts are available based on criticality and utilization.
Ensure direct reports update work orders with completion details, time spent, and parts used after execution.
Execute health checks post preventive or corrective maintenance work orders.
Manage maintenance spending through budgeting and forecasting compliance, goods receipts, and accruals for the section in partnership with the asset reliability team.
Regularly report performance indicators using the CMMS, dashboards, and scorecards.
Schedule and track work orders on the CMMS and maintenance schedule sheet.
Create and track notifications (planned corrective maintenance) on the CMMS.
Collaborate with the Section Manager and Process Engineers on section-aligned priorities daily in section DMS Level 2, and on improvements and productivity projects weekly/monthly.

I. Job Summary

Safely operates a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using utilizing standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report); notes all issues on DVIR form for corrective review/repair.
Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service calls to Operations Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Operations Manager.
Works closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
Performs all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed.
Notifies Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage.
Notifies Dispatch or Operations Manager of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers, potential missed pick-ups or problems that arise on the route.
Communicates customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
Completely dumps all containers and leaves the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
Completes and submits customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed.
Positions containers on the customer’s property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced, containers are set in an upright position, and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
Follows route assignments throughout the day and completes all documentation when checking-in at the end of the route.

Implement the Individual Recovery Plan (IRP).

Monitor the safety of individuals in recovery in their residences through proper supervision of the sites ensuring the maintenance of safe and healthy facilities.
Communicate immediate concerns with supervisory staff.

Description

Scrap Management Industries inc. is looking for a skilled Supervisor/Diesel Mechanic to oversee our maintenance shop and help maintain and repair our fleet of heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Our company runs a high-volume freight operation, and we rely on professional mechanics to keep our trucks DOT-compliant, road-ready, and running at peak performance. If you're experienced with heavy-duty diesel trucks, enjoy a fast-paced shop, and take pride in your work, this role is for you.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, drivetrains, brakes, suspension, and trailer systems
Oversee direct reports and ensure policies are followed
Perform routine maintenance, including PMs, oil changes, tire checks, and brake services
Utilize diagnostic tools (Cummins Insite, Noregon, etc.) to troubleshoot issues and complete repairs
Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with FMCSA standards
Maintain acc urate maintenance logs and repair records (digitally)
Coordinate with dispatch and operations manager for truck downtime and service scheduling
Respond to occasional roadside service calls or after-hours breakdowns (rotation basis)
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

Experience working on and troubleshooting issues with both heavy mobile equipment and diesel-powered trucks.
2+ years of experience working on Class 7 and 8 trucks (Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Mack, Volvo, etc.)
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brakes, electrical, and emissions systems
Experience overseeing others
Familiarity with diagnostic software and electronic logging devices (ELDs)
Must provide your own basic tools (specialty tools provided by shop)
Valid driver’s license required; CDL-A is a strong plus
ASE Certification preferred but not required
Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment
Must have thorough understanding of DOT regulations.
Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
Works well independently and with others.
Good communication skills.
Organized with attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.

Education And Experience:

Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required.
Bilingual preferred, not required.
Current CDL license a plus.
Mobile equipment operating experience a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods standing and walking.
Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
Must be able to visually inspect machines.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

The program offers support and opportunities for individuals to enrich their lives, develop social and daily living skills, and build social and community connections. The ideal candidate will have experience working with adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, prior residential experience and ability to time manage appointments across different locations.

Provide direct medical care as ordered by a physician
Educate and consult with individuals and staff on medical conditions, medications, and general health topics
Deliver individualized training and facilitate health and wellness groups
Assist individuals in accessing and utilizing community health resources

Physical And Scheduling Requirements:

Ability to assist residents with personal care, including lifting and transferring individuals.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, overnight coverage, and occasional overtime as needed.
Must be able to handle physically demanding situations, such as assisting in emergencies or behavioral crises.

Qualifications:

B.A./B.S. in education, psychology, rehabilitation, or related field preferred or one year of experience in human services.
Must maintain active MAP certification, will need to obtain MAP certification within 3 months of hire.
Must be 21+, with a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and daily use of a car (preferred).
Must have strong communication, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to meet physical requirements, including assisting with resident transfers, personal care, and handling emergency situations.

What You’Ll Do:

Essential Functions

I. Job Summary

Safely operates a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
Operates vehicle in accordance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements as well as all local, state and federal requirements and Company expectations for the Fleet; maintains a clean and safe vehicle.
Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using utilizing standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report); notes all issues on DVIR form for corrective review/repair.
Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service calls to Operations Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Operations Manager.
Works closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
Performs all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed.
Notifies Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage.
Notifies Dispatch or Operations Manager of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers, potential missed pick-ups or problems that arise on the route.
Communicates customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
Completely dumps all containers and leaves the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
Completes and submits customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed.
Positions containers on the customer’s property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced, containers are set in an upright position, and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
Follows route assignments throughout the day and completes all documentation when checking-in at the end of the route.
