Essential Functions:

Ensures regulatory compliance by scheduling, administering and tracking new hire orientation including follow-up with leaders of outstanding or delinquent orientation checklists to include first day orientation, department orientation and general orientation. Performs a variety of administrative duties including, but not limited to, data entry and collection, filing, responding to customer telephone calls, scanning documents and facilitating correspondence. Backs up the front desk area and assists others throughout the department.

Skills & Requirements

Overview

Support the overall operation of the Human Resource Department in daily administrative functions. Assist with key responsibilities for both offices, which includes new hire administration, employee relations, training and communications with both hotel departments and Highgate corporate offices.

Qualifications

Organize and coordinate training sessions; reserve space for training, ensures that audiovisual equipment is available and operating, distributes materials such as handouts and quizzes, and handles other similar details and tasks.
Maintain records of attendance and successful completion of training. Assist in evaluation and recommend modification to existing or proposed programs; suggest and implement suitable changes.

HR Administration

Provide administrative support to the HR department including but not limited to assisting with performance management activities, employee engagement, DEI, coordinating meetings and events, HR office file maintenance.
Answer basic employee inquiries as it pertains to the employee manual and benefit entitlements and office procedures. Provide front desk coverage when necessary and handle HR department mail.
Stay current with local, state, and Federal HR laws, legislation, and trends, and maintain compliance with each. Produce monthly newsletter.
Support planning and coordinating employee recognition/relations program.
Draft and issues all- staff announcements, notices, flyers.
Assist in design, monitor and update HR SharePoint page frequently.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, or five years of equivalent work experience, required.
Three years related office-based administrative work experience; Three years of HR Generalist experience preferred.
Experience applying knowledge of state employment laws to assess compliance issues.
Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Job Summary

The Human Resources Generalist plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day HR operations for the facility, with a strong focus on benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, and policy enforcement. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

What a Day Looks Like:

The successful candidate plays a vital role in driving employee engagement, supporting operational excellence, and ensuring the smooth delivery of HR programs. As the only Generalist onsite, this is a hands-on, high-impact position requiring versatility, collaboration, and exceptional interpersonal skills. The Generalist is supported by the Senior People Operations Manager – Senior Human Resources Manager (Sr. Mgr). Responsibilities may evolve to align with company goals.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

Lead full-cycle hourly recruitment: job requisitions, postings, interviews, background/reference checks, offer letters, and onboarding
Collaborate with the training team to facilitate new hire orientation

Payroll & Administration

Administer payroll for hourly employees on a weekly basis
Maintain accurate records for attendance, headcount, and recruitment metrics
Coordinate employee events, communications, and recognition programs

People Analytics & Systems

Leverage the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Workday, for data entry, reporting, and regular audits to ensure data integrity
Generate reports to identify workforce trends and measure program effectiveness
Interpret engagement survey data and support the execution of plant-level action plans

Employee Relations & Policy Support

Coach the leadership team on employee relations, performance, and policy interpretation
Address and escalate team member concerns, ensuring confidentiality and consistency
Assist with investigations and support fair and respectful resolution of workplace issues
Uphold compliance with employment laws and company policies

Technical Skills

Systems proficiency: HRIS, payroll, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and other People systems (Workday, UKG, SAP, OpenPhone)
Demonstrated ability to create reports, business correspondence, and process documentation

Requirements

University degree in Human Resources (HR), Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 2 years of progressive HR experience; food manufacturing or CPG environment preferred
CHRP or SHRM designation preferred
Availability for regular Monday–Friday hours, with flexibility to adjust schedule to support 24/7 operations as needed.

Licenses/Certifications -

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS -

Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

• Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and areas of compliance.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree required, bachelor’s degree in human resources preferred.

• 3+ years of experience in human resources.

• Prior recruiting experience preferred but not required.

• Experience using HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred).

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.

• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on finding practical, effective solutions.

• Prior experience in a professional services environment is a plus.
