Basic Qualifications:

Juris Doctor and 5 or more years of experience in the Claims areaOR

Handle full process of reinsurance recoveries on a range of complex accounts
Maintenance of the account profile
Monitoring and ensuring completeness of issuance of bills
Monitoring and preparation of loss escrow adequacy
Ensuring bill adjustments are cleared correctly
Preparing stats as needed regarding billing KPIs
Keeping abreast of major relationship issues on all accounts and intervening in communications where necessary
Ensuring ad hoc requests (e.g. loss runs, audit requests) are completed and issued promptly
Managing a team of claims coordinators in all day-to-day, as well as all HR-related issues
Assisting staff with clearance of problem accounts/issues
Communicating with clients regarding any of the above tasks
Training of staff in all aspects of the above tasks
Review and maintain effective internal controls
Any other related duties as assigned

What you will need to succeed

Experience in a multinational insurance/reinsurance environment is required
Recognized insurance qualification an advantage
Strong analytical abilities essential, particularly in relation to understanding of reinsurance layerings
Excellent knowledge of and experience in working with Excel and Outlook
Ability to find imaginative solutions to complex process issues

Extensive experience handling large and complex property losses, including builders risk, business interruption and time element claims in all Canadian jurisdictions.

Identifies and resolves issues with company representatives.
Monitors management reports relating to the dedicated client's performance.

Primary Duties

Direct responsibility for high profile/exposure claims on all Property and Workers Compensation, and Executive Risk lines, including oversight and coordination of communication efforts and closure strategies both internally and externally through resolution. Monitoring of claim reserves and case administration for entire book of claims, including settlement and reserve strategies. Works with various departments, including Human Resources, Legal and Accounting along with Director on high profile cases to resolve/mitigate damages.
Develops and recommends global claim processes, monitoring compliance of same. Develops and provides training as needed throughout the organization. Works with Loss Prevention to identify and report WC claim trends for inclusion in strategic loss mitigation plans. Coordinates interdepartmental communications on property claim processing and reimbursements, including resulting accounting treatment. Reviews and approves loss reports.
Key contact with service providers (TPA, Brokers) on all claim management/resolution related activities. Includes, but is not limited to, identification of strategic case management opportunities for cost reduction/containment. Performs data analytics and validation of loss trending analysis, in addition to coordinating and scheduling claim reviews with service providers.
Reviews and assists as necessary in monthly insurance accruals. Reviews claims data for semi-annual actuarial analysis. Works with accounting as necessary.
Monitors and ensures departmental claim processing controls for SOX compliance related to insurance reserves. Reviews claim invoices for accuracy and authorization. Special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Bachelors Degree in Business preferred.
7-10 years experience in Risk Management, Workers Compensation claims or closely related field.
Technical Workers Compensation knowledge required.
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple, competing tasks.
Ability to interface with various levels of management, including executive style communications.
Technical Insurance knowledge and strong analytical skills required.

About The Role

As a Motor Claims Manager at Reserv, you will be responsible for a team of claims professionals managing claims in your experienced line of business. We want your background and experience to deliver operational effectiveness, particularly in leveraging technology and analytics to drive better efficiencies and performance. You will serve a critical role with the team, the customers, and the client. The high-performing team you will manage will service several clients as part of our Core Team. You will maintain high quality standards, and compliance with regulatory, internal, and external contractual SLAs. This position requires exceptional leadership skills, and foundational understanding of claims ideally with experience handling and/or managing multi lines of business.

What We Need

Manage a team of motor adjusters managing a mix of accounts
Looking after your own caseload and overseeing larger losses and contentious cases
Be consistently dependable in achieving or exceeding goals and overcoming obstacles
Implement and maintain best practices for claims handling, including: claim intake, investigation, evaluation, settlement, and recovery
Monitor and analyze claims data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for process improvement
Align team with client and customer expectations of the claims process
Serve as a resource for escalated claims
Responsible for accuracy and adequacy of all aspects of claim reserving
Develop and implement strategies to mitigate fraudulent claims and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and encourage professional growth and development
Execute on performance management; attract, hire, retain and provide high level of training
Collaborate with internal teams, such as Account Management, Compliance, and Claim Operations, to resolve complex or escalated claims-related issues

Prepare and present comprehensive claims reports, metrics, and analysis to clients and customers; advise clients on claim trends and loss mitigation

Requirements

Chartered Institute Qualifications minimum of DIP CII or equivalent (we will consider those working towards)
10+ years in insurance claims management experience in multiple lines of business, preference for property, general liability and/or motor with bodily injury experience
5+ years management experience with preference for experience managing in a remote environment
Comfortable with technology and the ability to evolve the claims systems and processes to drive better efficiencies and outcomes
Demonstrated commitment to quality, accuracy, and attention to detail
Integrity, ethics, and a strong sense of accountability in handling confidential and sensitive information

Business As Usual (BAU) Support

Monitor the implementation of business plans at the country level, plus operational issues within the country, and escalate issues where appropriate (including CATs, and disaster recovery).

Review regional budgets across all impacted functional areas, provide regional-level inputs, and manage spending against deliverables and projects.

The Role

Manage auto and general liability claims from initial report through resolution, including coverage analysis, strategic planning, and settlement
Conduct thorough investigations by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, reviewing telematics, and maintaining detailed claim documentation
Collaborate with TPAs, adjusters, attorneys, medical providers, and vendors to drive efficient and cost-effective outcomes
Establish and monitor claim reserves, review medical bills, pursue subrogation, and oversee salvage and recovery efforts
Ensure compliance with state, OSHA, DOT, industry, and company requirements, maintaining accurate and timely reporting
Partner with the safety team to analyze incidents, identify risks, implement corrective actions, and support return-to-work programs
Prepare and present claim reports, loss analyses, trend reviews, and KPI dashboards to leadership and insurance carriers

Requirements

3+ years of claims management experience, preferably in telecommunications, construction, or a related industry
Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, or related field; professional certification (AIC, CPCU, or ARM) preferred
Strong knowledge of auto liability, general liability, and workers’ compensation laws
Proficiency with claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills
Ability to influence safety behaviors across all organizational levels and build strong relationships with stakeholders

Coordinate with facility leadership, risk managers, defense counsel and others:

What You Have

Your Responsibilities

Pro-actively manage a portfolio of workers compensation claims to achieve the optimum outcome of early and sustainable return to work with reasonable claim costs
Collaborate with medical professionals, employers, brokers, rehab providers and other stakeholders to create an effective Return to Work strategy
Assist the worker and employer with the claim process, providing support, managing expectations and ensuring timely access to required services to support return to work and injury recovery
Assess aspects of liability and recovery relevant to the legislation or policies while undertaking ongoing reviews in relation to entitlements and payments
Respond to escalations and provide coaching and mentoring to other members of the team

About You

Minimum 3 years of experience managing claims within the New Zealand Accident Compensation Scheme is mandatory
You must currently be residing in New Zealand to be eligible for relocation bonus
An empathetic, resilient, and motivational approach to provide customer centric support
A driven professional with highly developed written and verbal communication skills

Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities:

The Claims Manager reports directly to the Commercial Manager and is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of contractual claims within an EPCm framework. This dual role includes responding to subcontractor-originated claims directed at the client and proactively safeguarding EPCm Contractor’s commercial interest by initiating / supporting claims against the client.
The Claims Manager will deliver post-award contract management aligned with our Framework for Managing the Fundamentals (FMF).
The Claims Manager may supervise others within the Commercial team.

Key Responsibilities

Post-Award Contract Administration

Assessment of subcontractor variations / claims and resolution of disputes in accordance with the EPCM Construction Contract and EPCM Agreement.
Management of Change, (MOC): A critical element of the role is to work closely with the Commercial Manager and MOC Engineer to identify and assess the impact of potential changes and raise variations to the EPCm Contract.
Compliance Oversight: Manage contract administration in line with our existing policies/procedures to ensure strict adherence to contract terms, including initiating notices and reviewing guarantees / insurances.
Contractual Correspondence: Working with SubContract Managers and actively managing contractual letters with EPCM Construction Contractors.
Close monitoring of Subcontractor reports and maintenance of records in support of change requests.

Risk Management

Work with Commercial Manager and Risk Manager on identifying key contractual risks with the EPCM Construction Contractors and establishing quantum.
Provide regular updates on potential changes / claims / disputes for management reporting and controls.

Financial and Cash Flow Management

Pro-actively keep commercial and finance teams apprised of current and emerging commercial issues - for payment and cashflow purposes.

Project Monitoring and Reporting

Stakeholder Reporting: Provide input into regular reports for senior management.

Project Oversight and Supervision

Team Supervision: Where appropriate, supervise team members, ensuring effective contract management, administration, and resource allocation.

Prepares reports on investigation, settlements, denials of claims, individual evaluation of involved parties etc.
Sets reserves within authority limits and recommends reserve changes to Team Leader and the client.
Timely review and process defense counsel and third party invoices to insure timely payment.
Reviews progress and status of claims with Team Leader and discusses problems and suggested remedial actions. 
Settles claims promptly and equitably. 
Obtains releases, proofs of loss or compensation agreements and issues company drafts in payments for claims.

Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation (or course completion towards CIP) is an asset

Foundation Risk Partners, one of the fastest growing insurance brokerage and consulting firm in the US, is adding a P&C Claims Manager to their growing team. This is a 100% remote opening with a preference on EST OR CST hours.

The P&C Claims Manager is responsible for the oversight, monitoring, reporting of statuses and facilitation of claim resolutions and settlements that have a direct positive financial or other business impact on the clients. This position coordinates the reporting and advocacy of commercial property & casualty insurance claims. Claims Manager engages in coverage review and analysis; prepares coverage reconsideration requests; coordinates the scheduling of quarterly Claims Strategy Discussions to include the insurer adjusters and/or Claims Account Executive and the insured; maintain client contacts; and analyze available loss data for claims metrics.

Essential Functions:

Provides effective guidance and client advocacy to the adjustment of claims for property, general liability, workers compensation, professional liability, and other lines of coverage
Identify potential coverage issues and provide policy interpretation
Review and develop rebuttal responses to issued Reservation of Rights and Coverage Declinations
Review of Proof of Losses / Statement of Losses on both Personal Lines and Commercial Lines claims
Identify claims to be reviewed with clients and carrier partners and coordinate, schedule and oversee meetings scheduled on a predetermined basis
Monitors the carrier’s investigation, evaluation, and settlements of claims
Review reserving accuracy to insure they are appropriate for exposure
Monitors payments on claims, including CAT claims for both Personal Lines and Commercial Lines clients
Assist internal and external customers by providing claim statuses, analyze settlement offers, review and resolve coverage questions, and collaborate on claims strategy
Directly monitors select litigated claims, including oversight of defense counsel
Interact with clients, carrier/TPA adjusters, independent adjusters, public adjusters, experts, and internal team members
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner following established guideline

Essential Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro, and insurance agency management software (EPIC) (AMS360)
Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
Proficient level written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Education And Experience:

Property & Casualty/or All Lines Adjuster License in home state (required)
High school diploma or equivalent

5-7 years’ experience in handling 1st and 3rd party property & casualty claims or Agency/Brokerage Claims Advocacy

Responsibilities

Manage insurance policy renewal submissions and applications for new insurance policies.
Work with insurance brokers, insurers, and key additional insureds (DePaul’s lenders and investors) to ensure cost effectiveness and optimum coverage.
Coordinate delivery of certificates of insurance for project closing, renewals, and outside vendors, lenders and investors.
Assist in developing insurance budgets for core insurance lines, reviewing invoices for processing and tracking variations.
Assist with allocation of premiums by location etc.
Manage the reporting, processing, and adjustment of claims, including preparation and submission of notice of claims to the insurance broker and/or carrier, tracking claims progress and resolution for all-risk property and business interruption insurance, general and professional liability, employer liability, automobile liability, Cyber, Crime, etc.
Coordinate and attend site visits as needed with insurance agencies for risk assessment/audit.
Invoicing for Insurance Escrows.
Auto changes-ID cards, tracking changes and registration dates.
Act as the overall point of contact on all insurance matters ensuring insurance compliance with government, lender, and investor requirements, as well as DePaul’s risk appetite.
Continue to develop processes and procedures for assisting the insurance program, including checklists, forms, and assistance with staff training.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Minimal travel between locations, as necessary.
Perform any duties necessary for the effective operation of the programs.

Qualifications

4+ years’ experience in insurance/risk management (underwriting, risk management, brokerage, or related area); some familiarity with builders’ risk insurance a plus.
Risk management designation, such as CRM, CPCU, or other relevant industry credentials a plus.
High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Strong organizational skills and working knowledge of Microsoft office products, including word, outlook, and excel.
Ability to communicate and work well in a fast-paced environment.
