The pay range for the role is $200,00. to $250,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Handles all assigned claims promptly and effectively, with little to no direction and oversight. Makes decisions within delegated authority as outlined in company policies and procedures.
Determines proper policy coverages and applies appropriate claims practices to resolve cases in alignment with company guidelines.
Opens, closes and adjusts reserves according to company practices to ensure reserve adequacy. Adheres to file conferencing notification and authority procedures.
Maintains current knowledge of insurance and applicable product/services; court decisions which may impact the claims function; current guidelines; and policy changes and modifications. This may require attending various seminars and training sessions.
Maintains current knowledge of local industry repair procedures and local market pricing.
Submits severe incident reports, reinsurance reports and other information to claims management as needed.
Partners with Special Investigations Unit and Subrogation to identify fraud and subrogation opportunities. Assists or prepares files for lawsuit, trial, or subrogation.
Initiates and conducts follow-ups through proficient use of claims and other related business systems.
Delivers an outstanding customer service experience to all internal, external, current and prospective Nationwide customers. Adheres to high standards of professional conduct while providing delivery of outstanding claim's service.

Education: Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.

Experience: Three to five years of related property claims experience. Experience in a customer service environment, including flexible work schedules and extended work hours preferred.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: General knowledge of insurance theory and practices, and contracts and their application. Property estimating and automated claims systems. Demonstrated knowledge of the investigation, consultation and settlement activities used to resolve extensive property damage claims. Analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to make decisions and resolve issues related to application of coverages to submitted claims, application of laws of jurisdiction to investigation facts, and application of policy exclusions and exceptions. Ability to establish repair requirements and cost estimates for property losses. Ability to evaluate and successfully advise on property claims. Organizational skills to prioritize work. Command of written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with policyholders, claimants, repairpersons, attorneys, agents and the general public. Ability to efficiently operate a personal computer and related claims and business software. Able to provide leadership to less experienced claims associates. Must be able to safely access and inspect rooftops using a ladder.  Must be prepared and capable of conducting physical inspections on rooftops, including first and second story roofs with pitches up to 8/12.

Position Overview:
We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Auto Claims Adjuster to join our team. We are seeking an actuarial professional to drive the advancement of our pricing & analytical capabilities within AIG’s North America Financial Lines team. This is an exciting position focused on pricing, modelling, and advanced analytics for our Cyber and Professional Liability product lines. The actuary will help elevate the technical capabilities of the team through dynamic work projects such as profitability studies, predictive modelling, planning support, and building out portfolio management & monitoring tools. The individual will be a trusted business partner, working closely with the underwriting and claims departments to ensure profitable performance and growth.

How you will create an impact

Perform and communicate the results of pricing studies for Cyber & Professional liability product segments
Construct & maintain advanced models for various business functions such as pricing or claim monitoring
Work closely with underwriting business partners to review market trends, understand portfolio shifts, identify pockets of profitable business, monitor emerging issues, and help management develop and quantify the impact of underwriting actions
Help advance the broader Financial Lines team’s ability to perform deeper analytics such as ranges of reasonability, sensitivity testing, simulation, and optimal portfolio mix
Support the annual profit study & planning process
Support the reinsurance placement process from a data and analytics standpoint
Ensure model validation and documentation standards are met

What you’ll need to succeed

BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related area
Minimum ACAS credential, FCAS preferred
7 years or more experience, Cyber and/or Professional Liability familiarity preferred
Experience in SQL & R/Python required, experience with predictive modeling preferred
Driven & intellectually curious, with an innate drive to continuously learn and innovate
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Work well both independently and as part of a team
Strong business and collaboration skills
Flexibility and effective time management skills
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

For positions based in New York, the base salary range is $138,000-$178,000 and for the positions based in New Jersey, the base range is $126,000-$163,000 In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. May be called upon for catastrophe duty.

Your Role

As the Deputy Financial Lines Manager, your role will focus on enhancing profit, growth, service, and producer relations within our Financial Lines Team. Drive the design, development and implementation of Portfolio strategy across the value chain that aligns with the overarching strategy.

Liability Claims Adjuster

Job Summary: The Liability Claims Adjuster position is responsible for the analysis and adjustment of minor to moderate commercial claims.

Major Accountabilities:

Verify coverage as new losses are received.
Adjust claims on an inside basis including investigating, evaluating, negotiating, documenting, and validating to conclusion within authority level.
Work with attorneys assigned in the defense of insured and attend mediations and trials as a representative of the company as needed.

Qualifications:

Education/Training Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and three years’ experience required or five years of claims handling experience required. Adjuster’s license required. All internal candidates must have manager approval before submitting an application.

Experience/Specialized Skills: Minimum of three years adjuster experience and Bachelor’s degree required, or five years claims handling experience required. Familiarity with basic insurance and tort law, understanding of basic legal principles and terminology as it relates to insurance operations and knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures required. Intermediate computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, Internet, e-mail) required.

Special Considerations:

Physical Requirements: Constant use of vision, hearing, and communication (oral and written in person and via telephone). Frequent concentration, standing, walking, handling, reaching, and grasping. What You'Ll Do:

Own the docket: Handle a full slate of pre-litigation injury files—plus the early stages of litigation—taking each case from intake through signed release with minimal attorney touchpoints.
Drive negotiations: Analyze coverage, build demands, and negotiate directly with adjusters to hit or beat firm-set settlement and cycle-time targets.
Guide the client experience: Serve as the primary contact for clients and medical providers, giving timely updates, gathering records, and coaching clients on treatment and recovery milestones.
Control the paperwork: Order, audit, and summarize medical bills and liens, track all deadlines, and maintain immaculate digital files in Filevine (or similar) so attorneys can drop in and see instant status.
Clear the finish line: Finalize lien resolutions, draft closing statements, and coordinate disbursements to wrap cases cleanly and keep referrals flowing.

What You Need

At least two years of bodily-injury insurance claims–adjusting experience handling full liability evaluation and settlement authority of fifty thousand dollars or more
Or at least five years of plaintiff-side personal-injury case management in a high-volume firm where you personally negotiated settlements with insurance agents.
Currently located in the state of Massachusetts.
Demonstrated record of independently moving a docket of sixty or more pre-litigation injury files from intake through signed release, including demand drafting, policy limits analysis, lien resolution, and final disbursement.
Solid grasp of medical terminology and the ability to read, summarize, and value treatment records and bills without attorney guidance.
Proven negotiation results that meet or exceed firm-set settlement targets and cycle-time expectations.
Working knowledge of state-specific personal-injury statutes, comparative-fault rules, lien subrogation, and coverage triggers.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 plus at least one cloud case-management platform such as Filevine, Litify, or Clio, including custom-report generation.
Exceptional client-facing communication skills and the confidence to coordinate directly with adjusters, providers, and opposing counsel.
Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, claims-adjuster license, or any combination that shows formal training in claims, law, or healthcare documentation.
Availability to be in office most days during onboarding, then operate with minimal supervision while meeting/exceeding weekly productivity metrics agreed upon with the managing attorney.

About You

Your New Role

Investigate and resolve Casualty Personal Injury claims to provide excellent claims handling service with minimal leakage.
Identify and investigate coverage issues to ensure the company’s liability aligns with its contractual commitments.

What you’ll need to succeed

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, insurance-related or Information Technology field.

With basic knowledge of Financial Lines insurance products, underwriting principles, and industry practices.
We also prefer if you have basic knowledge of Cyber Insurance or Cyber Security concepts.
Having good analytical, risk assessment, and decision-making skills will help you thrive in this role.
Similarly, strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills will also help.
You must be able to build and maintain strong relationships with agents and brokers.
Has the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Manages workers compensation claims determining compensability and benefits due on long term indemnity claims, monitors reserve accuracy, and files necessary documentation with state agency.
Develops and manages workers compensation claims' action plans to resolution, coordinates return-to-work efforts, and approves claim payments.
Approves and processes assigned claims, determines benefits due, and manages action plan pursuant to the claim or client contract.
Manages subrogation of claims and negotiates settlements.
Communicates claim action with claimant and client.
Ensures claim files are properly documented and claims coding is correct.
May process complex lifetime medical and/or defined period medical claims which include state and physician filings and decisions on appropriate treatments recommended by utilization review.
Maintains professional client relationships.

Experience managing client and broker relationships, ensuring timely and accurate billing and payments.

Fluency in Danish and English, both written and spoken, is required.
Proficiency in MS Office tools and the ability to produce detailed management information reports.

Job Summary: The Auto Property Damage Claims Adjuster is responsible for the evaluation, negotiation and settlement of auto, truck, and other material and physical damage claims for Canal Insurance Company.

Identify and evaluate coverage issues; prepare comprehensive coverage letters with supervisory review and analysis; retain and provide direction to coverage counsel when necessary.
Assess liability and resolve claim within established evaluation. Maintain diaries and complete tasks within required timeframes as set forth by department guidelines; ensure claim files are timely and properly documented with clear and concise analysis on coverage, damages, reserves, and liability including an action plan for resolution. Process and pay invoices within a timely manner.
Coordinate vendor referrals for additional investigation and/or litigation management. Calculate and assign timely and appropriate reserves; monitor reserve accuracy throughout the life of the claim.
Refer case as appropriate to supervisor and management. Respond to requests or directions in a professional and timely manner.
Attend arbitrations, mediations, settlement conference and trials.
Successfully complete required State licensing examinations and continuing education requirement.
Communicate with all internal business partners including underwriters to make sure underwriting is aware of large losses and industry trends.
Partner with TPA Governance and Relationship Management to help TPA’s and Insureds comply with claim handling and reporting guidelines.
Work with TPA Claims Financial to check the accuracy of TPA financials ensuring alignment with TTPO financials.

What you’ll need to succeed

4 plus years of General Liability/Auto claims experience.
Experience with complex and high exposure General Liability Bodily Injury and Property damage claims
Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and strong negotiation skills
Advanced experience and capabilities in litigation claims management, including ADR and mediation processes, involving auto/GL exposures.
Strong technical expertise interpreting insurance contracts.
In depth knowledge of claim handling procedures, claims performance strategies, and claim best practices.
Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
Should also have a demonstrated ability to initiate and champion change initiatives that leverage technology and improve skills in benchmarking.
Creativity in resolving challenging business problems, as well as ability to achieve business goals and objectives is essential.

The organization is in the business of insurance and claims settlement is one of the key functions in this trade. The organization will need to have claim specialist to manage the claims portfolio. The Opportunity:

The claims team works collaboratively alongside the underwriting function in order to facilitate close communication and exchange of ideas.

The Professional Indemnity team handles claims within Wholesale Claims. This includes a broad range of UK and international claims arising from Solicitors PI, Financial Services PI, Miscellaneous PI and some Construction PI.

What You’Ll Be Doing:

Handle high value, complex claims across the Professional Indemnity major classes, in line with the MINT claims philosophy, reserving philosophy, Markel Style and Claims Handling Manual.

Work with Managing Agents and service providers in multiple jurisdictions.

Support the Claims Managers and other senior leaders in the development and implementation of the Claims Business Plan and strategy of MINT.

Help train, support and guide all team members in their claims handling.

Be collaborative in your approach by sharing any improvements with the other team members or claims teams.

Maintain good working relationships with the underwriting team, Actuarial team and Outwards Reinsurance Team.

Provide feedback on claims experiences, contract wordings (including policy wording), claims data or feedback for any renewal to the Claims Managers and underwriters.

Drive team broker interaction to deliver a more customer focused and value adding service, including supporting an organised broker interaction program on an annual basis.

Our Must-Haves:

Should have previous experience handing Solicitors PI, Financial Services PI, Miscellaneous PI and Construction PI claims, but it is not necessary to have experience handling all of those major classes.

Have experience supervising and training more junior team members.

Have experience of using ECF and an understanding of London market critical metrics.

Demonstrate strong written and spoken communication skills.

Demonstrate Strong Teamwork.

Possess strong independent organisational skills.

Have good IT (Microsoft Office) skills, including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
