Role Overview

We’re seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead enterprise-scale data unification and Customer 360 programs on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric. The role will unify identity, engagement, and operational data across many systems to establish a single golden record, enable governed analytics, and support AI-ready datasets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and deliver complex, multi-year data unification and Customer 360 solutions.
  • Design and implement Master Data Management (MDM) capabilities: identity resolution, match/merge logic, survivorship rules, and stewardship workflows.
  • Build and operate scalable, automated data pipelines across cloud and on-prem sources; hands-on experience with Profisee (MDM) and Fivetran (integration).
  • Develop and optimize solutions on Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric (including lakehouse/medallion patterns).
  • Establish and operationalize data governance frameworks: data cataloging, lineage tracking, stewardship operating models, access controls, and regulatory/compliance policies; experience integrating Microsoft Purview is a plus.
  • Define and monitor data quality baselines (accuracy, consistency, completeness, timeliness) and drive continuous improvement.
  • Create and evolve semantic models to support analytics, reporting, and AI scenarios; enforce standardized definitions and calculations.
  • Lead change management and stakeholder engagement to drive adoption and value realization.
  • Apply DataOps practices for observability, performance tuning, hypercare, and post–go-live optimization.
  • Collaborate with executive, business, and IT stakeholders; translate business needs into clear technical designs and roadmaps.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven success delivering complex, multi-year Customer 360 initiatives in multi-system environments.
  • Hands-on expertise with Profisee (MDM) and Fivetran (data integration).
  • Deep experience with Microsoft Azure data services and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Strong background in data governance frameworks and operationalizing data quality and compliance (Purview experience preferred).
  • Proficiency in semantic modeling and analytics enablement (Power BI).
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Certifications (Required or Strongly Preferred)

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate
  • DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
  • Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP) – Data Governance or Data Quality track
  • Profisee Certified Professional (if available)

Location & Work Arrangement

  • US-based; preference for Midwest or East Coast. Remote acceptable.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Data Modeling: Proficiency in creating and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Database Management: Expertise in working with various database management systems (DBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or others.
  • Data Integration: Experience in designing and implementing data integration solutions. Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.
  • Data Governance and Quality: Ability to ensure data quality and implement data quality frameworks.
  • Data Security: Knowledge of data security best practices and experience implementing data security measures.
  • Programming and Scripting: Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, or others used for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
